2. What is Employability
A set of achievements skills, understandings and
personal attributes that make graduates more likely
to gain employment and be successful in their
chosen occupations, which benefits themselves, the
workforce, the community and the economy.
Employability is not the same as gaining a graduate
job, rather it implies something about the capacity
of the graduate to function in a job and be able to
move between jobs, thus remaining employable
throughout their life.
3. It requires four broad and inter-related
components:
Understanding
Skilful practices (including deployment of skills)
Efficacy beliefs (including students views of
themselves)
Meta-cognition (including self-awareness and a
capacity to reflect on learning)
4. Employability Skills
A set of attributes, skills and knowledge
that all labour market participants should
possess to ensure
they have the capability
of being effective in
the workplace.
5. Modern Employability Skills
Modern Employability skills can be referred
as soft skills, generic skills, enabling skills
or key competencies.
15. Personal Marketing
Personal Marketing makes the employers
decision to hire you, an easy one. When you do
this properly you make life easier for the
employer and get more job offers.
Marketing is more than Promotion. You need to
pin down your entire marketing mix.
