Fast Food in
America:Americans eating
their life away.
By :MaKayla
When it comes to fast food our country is VERY united.
According to Mr. Fatty
Pants (my morbidly obese
fast food expert), fast food
is a way to attain diabetes
and high blood pressure for
a low price of only $4.99.
Also it’s a way to attain a
greasy and fattening meal
on the go. Who wouldn’t
love that !
What is fast food?
● High cholesterol
● Immediate eagerness
when you see a
Mcdonald’s sign.
● Rapid weight gain
● Memorization of fast
food menu
Common symptoms of fast food
addiction
The creation of Subway!
Subway was created to serve as a healthier
alternative to other fast food chains like Burger
King, Wendy’s, and Taco Bell. But in reality that
didn’t work out so well. According to an article in
Yahoo News in regards to a UCLA study, while
total calories were slightly lower at Subway, the
average calories per sandwich purchased and
sodium content were both higher at Subway. The
Subway sandwiches contained an average of
784 calories, versus 572 at McDonald’s.
What has been done to make
fast food healthier?
1. What is the target of your
satire?
2. What aspect or
characteristics of that
target are you pointing
out in your satire?
3. What about the target
group would you hope to
change?
Satire Questions
The target of my satire is the fast food industry
and fast food consumers. In the satire I’m pointing
out the disadvantages of eating fast food all the
times and the health effects of fast food. Eating
fast food constantly can lead to deadly diseases. I
hope to change people’s perspective on fast food.
Yes, it may be convenient but it also can eat away
your life piece by piece. I hope people think twice
about what they’re ordering from the fast food
menu. Fast food companies should try to offer
more healthier options like cooking their food in
coconut or olive oils. Those are oils that are
proven to be heart-healthy. In conclusion, I hope
my satire will influence people to look at fast food
in a different light.
