The world has become a busy place it has many positive and negative effects towards
the economy. One of the biggest concerns is fast food. Due to laziness people have
stopped cooking food and have resorted to fast food restaurants. They eat it so often
and are becoming obese. Yet most people have not comprehended that most of the
food is either extra old and contaminated. Therefore, consumers don't know what they
are eating and should be blamed for not eating healthy and gaining weight.
Fast food can be contaminated because the workers in the meat section are not careful.
For example, they work too fast and most of the time manure end up landing on the
product. "But the nation's industrialized and centralized system of food processing has
created a whole new sort of outbreak, one that can potentially sicken millions of
people." the reason why we shouldn't eat any products made by fast food companies
other than having heart problems and becoming overweight is that we can end up dying
of illness.
People should stop being sloths and cook their own meals such as vegetable soups,
sushi or food that contains fewer calories. The reason why we need to cook our own
food is because a various amounts of people are becoming overweight and are
becoming dependent on fast food. "The color of a food can determine the perception of
its taste. The mind filters out the overwhelming majority of chemical aromas that
surround us, focusing intently on some, ignoring others. People can grow accustomed
smells or good smells; they stop noticing what once seemed overpowering. Aroma and
memory are somehow inextricably linked. A smell can suddenly evoke a long-forgotten
moment. The flavors of childhood seems to leave an indelible mark, and adults often
return to them, without always knowing why." After consuming too much fast food
meals it starts becoming a routine without you noticing, which leads to health problems.
One of the situations, of eating fast food is that consumers think its the providers fault
for having health issues. "On any given day in the United States about one quarter of
the adult population visits a fast food restaurant. During a relatively brief period of time,
the fast food industry has helped to transform not only the American diet, but also our
landscape, economy, workforce, and popular culture." Therefore, the consumers are the
ones going back to eat their food and still complain that it’s the fast food industries fault.
In this decade americans have been spending too much money on fast food. No one
has time for anything anymore but yet people still chose to go to fast food restaurants
instead of cooking an appropriate meal. "In 1970, Americans spent about $6 billion on
fast food; in 2001, they spent more than $110 billion. Americans now spend more
money on fast food than on higher education, personal computers, computer software,
or new cars. They spend more on fast food than on movies, books, magazines,
newspapers, videos, and recorded music-combined." Americans are becoming
dependent on fast food and don’t deliberate and try spending it on high quality things
with the money they can be saving.
The fast food industry is being accused of selling unhealthy products which is true but
no one is forced to buy it. Clearly it’s the consumers fault for committing the same
mistake over and over. They eat fast food so often and contradict themselves by going
back to the place. "The fast food chains now stand atop a huge food-industrial complex
that has gained control of American agriculture." Fast food companies are at the top of
the picture but anyone can avoid eating unhealthy food. Do you really want to live this
unhealthy way? Make a change in our society eat healthier and help stop obesity, heart
attacks, high cholesterol, cancer, and other illnesses.
