Cathy Henesey discusses how companies can use social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook to attract job candidates. She recommends maximizing profiles by making them 100% complete, publishing public profiles, joining groups, and regularly posting updates. Companies should also create Facebook pages to share job postings, photos, and videos of employees. By engaging on these platforms and building an online "tribe", employers can market themselves as an attractive place to work directly to potential candidates in new ways.

Triggering students to create digital portfolios through empowering ePortfoli...Johanna Salmia
This document discusses empowering students to create digital portfolios through ePortfolio processes at HAMK, a professionally-oriented higher education institution in Finland. It outlines perspectives of students, employers, and teachers on ePortfolios and describes triggering students' interest through empowering processes. A case study of a new bioeconomy-ICT program integrates ePortfolio courses into study modules to help students develop professional competencies and reflect on work-related projects. Developing ePortfolios in teams and adding blog writing are suggested to improve the process and guide students with time, support, and feedback.
The document discusses HAMK's Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. It notes that BYOD was implemented based on years of eLearning experience and students' high adoption of mobile devices. Through BYOD, students use their own mobile devices to take photos, edit videos, write documents and more for their studies. Teachers support BYOD and find that students' devices integrate well into learning. The program aims to have students use their own devices throughout each study module from start to finish.

This document discusses digital lifelong learning. It notes that technology is accelerating and more new technologies are emerging. Lifelong learning and digitalization are changing how people learn throughout their lives. Mobile devices make learning easy anywhere as they provide constant access to online resources and collaboration tools. The document proposes that public services and libraries could support digital lifelong learning by providing access to technology, digital skills training, and serving as community hubs for learning and meeting across generations.
An Inspiring Outdoor Learning Model (EdMedia 2014)Johanna Salmia
The document describes an innovative outdoor learning model called MobileSummer School. The model was developed over 5 years and is based on using mobile devices and mobile learning in a creative, collaborative way. It aims to meet learner needs and knowledge through hands-on, peer supported activities in a relaxed environment. Key aspects include open social media use, theme-related events, and an emphasis on fun, happiness, and adventure. The model has been successfully applied to staff training events and for generating new business ideas. Evaluation found strong commitment from stakeholders and portability of the model to different environments and groups.
Living and Learning Together in a Mobile World - MobilLearn (eq. Mobiilisti) ...Johanna Salmia
This presentation was made to Online Educa Berlin 2012 by HAMK University of Applied Sciences. It includes several concrete examples and pilots.
The MobiLearn (Mobiilisti) project advances the use of mobile equipment in learning
not related to time and place. The goal is to expand the learning environment outside
the classroom. Students will be able to learn in authentic environments - outdoors, in
parks and in practical training.
Funded by The European Social Fund (ESF)
Execution period 1.1.2011 – 31.12.2013
The project is coordinated by HAMK University of Applied Sciences
Sub-projects of MobiLearn are headed by Omnia, Edupoli, Haaga-Helia, Hami and HAMK PTEU.
