Dr. M M Bagali conducted research on the post-trauma psychosocial burden of disabled workers in India who experienced occupational accidents and injuries. He surveyed over 200 employees who suffered major disabilities and found very high levels of psychological impacts like irritability, depression, and anxiety. The research also found that victims and their families experienced high social and family disturbances as well as economic burdens. There is a lack of social support for these individuals. The study recommends establishing community rehabilitation centers, post-trauma care centers, and implementing a safe community intervention program with trained counselors and social workers to help victims and reduce the psychosocial impacts of workplace accidents.
