Abstract : When accidents occur, the Post-trauma burden, stress, strain, difficulties faced by victim
& family members are too severe and damaging. Infact, effects of occupational accidents at the
workplace and post burden faced are a mainstream workplace problems that rarely receives
community attention and they create severe damage to everyone.
Purpose: To study the effect of Accidents on the victim and what are the difficulties face, and
workplace safety and issues of trauma care. To also know the role of Safe community and safe
community Professional can play in Safety Promotion and Health promotion.
Sample: All the major disabled accident victims, numbering around 500, were taken as sample to
study the post effects and difficulties faced.
Method: The intervention was done at 3 stages: (a) knowing how victims felt immediate after the
incidence (post-responses), (b) after few days of hospitalisation, and (c) presently after the
incidence, i.e. after long span of time and before joining back to work.
Results: 1. The results showed that, due to accidents and injury, 90% of victims faced lots of
difficulties at workplace; 2. The family members of victims faced lots of financial and Social
adjustments and faced Post Psychological trauma; 3. Since there was no Safe community
interventions, the study felt the need for trauma care through Safe community.
Conclusion: The results showed a high level of significant relation between accident, resultant
injury and post- trauma psychosocial burden undergone. here was high level of significant co-
relation between injury, burden and difficulties undergone, especially for those families with lack of
better economic standing. Psychological disturbance was experienced much during hospitalisation
& at home, with high symptoms of irritability, depression, nightmare, worry and anxiety provoking
behaviour. The study propose establishment of Safe Community and Health Workers interventions.
