This is the updated plan for starting the second semester of my 6th grade math class this year. It's aiming toward a little gamification, which many of my students should enjoy.

Your mission during the month of January 2015 is to complete the Study Island topics
which were covered in the first semester. Below you will see which topics are included.
Your goal is to have at least 20 questions completed with a score of 70% or higher for
each topic. You will be given class time to complete these during the first week of
January. The more you are able to accomplish in class, the better off you will be. Notice
that the goal is not to be the first to complete, but to have 70% or higher with 20 or more
questions on each topic.
If you are not sure about a topic, be sure to read the lesson BEFORE you start on the
questions. The lower you score on a topic, the more difficult it is to raise your score. If
you do not score at least 70% with 20 questions, then you will need to complete more
questions to achieve the 70% (or higher).
There will be study sessions and guidance given in class, after school, and during
lunch. Be watching for when certain topics will be taught. Take charge of your learning
to become a better mathematician.
If you are having difficulty on a topic (for example, you have less than a 50% after 10
questions) talk with Mr. Purcell about how to get some assistance.

If you feel that you may need extra time besides what is given during class, be sure to
take advantage of After School Tutoring or talk with Mr. Purcell about another way to
finish your mission on time.
When you complete your mission, check with Mr. Purcell and have him review your
mission paper (this page).
Failure to complete your mission by January 30, 2015, could result in detentions until
the mission is completed. (Dates listed will help you keep on track)
