The grade K math class learned about pennies, addition, and whole numbers. The teacher used pennies to teach students how to count to ten, identify the color and feel of pennies, recognize the portrait and cent symbol, and solve addition problems by using pennies. Students demonstrated their learning by using pennies to purchase tattoos. They were assigned homework to practice with their parents.
