MINUURA’S MISSION
The planet keeps spinning, whether I want it to or not. All the chores
around here leave me barely any time to rest, much less to write down
my thoughts.
“Whee! Olaf likes puddle!”
“My flower, how could you betray me so? But I forgive you.”
“It is a shame that the fridge holds such a small amount of food. I will
personally make sure that our fortress has a storage larger than this
entire room.”
“Th-this co-coffee makes me v-v-vibra-ate”
“And then, after checking off all the necessary preparations – “
“Give it a rest, warlock man.”
“Empress! I believe it is time for what you bestowed upon me!”
“Huh. I wonder why earthlings complain about this.”
“Ah, ze consequence de woohoo…”
Nargil gave birth to twin boys, which he promptly named Tsygan and
Dezik. He laments over them not having his skin complexion, apparently
caused by his diet during the pregnancy.
After seeing reapers and ghosts, my surprisement phasers are at a
constant zero.
Meanwhile, my own child just keeps on sprouting.
I am worried over not being able to give him a proper up-raising with so
many people being dependent on me.
The patients occasionally give a proper hand in helping, but I am also
afraid of them having too much influence on the forming of Russell’s
personality.
Though perhaps the lack of a proper crib affects him more…
“Does anyone else find it unfair to be imprisoned here while our
‘therapist’ is out there smooching?”
I admit that I have been avoiding some of my responsibilities, but I just
can’t bear with it all, especially when everything comes crashing down at
the same time. So I resort to my consorts.
Even though the mistakes I’ve made keep haunting me…
…and new ones keep arising.
I often feel unsuitable for this job. The patients are breaking down to smaller
pieces by each passing day, and I don’t know how to fix it. I don’t even bother
contacting headquarters anymore, it’s like trying to ask a potted plant for advice.
“Mister Reaper? Could you please move your business elsewhere
before another accident happens?”
Like I mentioned upon the twins’ births, I am no longer surprised when
something unexpected occurs. Not even when the double bed turns into a
single one and the kitchen chairs go missing.
“Just let me sleep already! What do you want?!”
“What do you think you’re looking at, huh?!”
“Talking to a cup de papier… Really healzy behaviour.”
The piano isn’t played as often as it used to, and when it is, the tunes just
add to the overall sense of madness.
Though I guess it’s good that the patients find harmless ways to amuse
themselves.
“Quit zrowing so high! You almost hit my eye!”
“Monsieur, zat is just nasty. Relieving yourself on a bébé!”
“I didn’t mean to, I swear!”
I’m very fortunate to have the gaming bosses give me paid vacation days,
even though my workload keeps piling up because of it.
*casually whistling*
So far Charles, Nargil, Olaf and Kris have passed away. Four lives that I
haven’t been able to save.
JJ: “Good thing we’re not on a date right now.”
Varyo has been taking it the hardest. Not only due to his feelings towards
Kris; he actually cared for the others and wanted to maintain friends with
them.
I don’t think him playing in the road the other day was to keep me from
missing work…
My biggest fear is for the children to give way as well.
You’d think taking care of them would be easier the bigger they get, but
it’s the opposite.
“Petit pauvre… you shouldn’t ‘ave been born ‘ere.”
If this part of town wasn’t so damn peaceful and goodytwoshoes I would
have gotten my hands on some cribs already, along with some other
necessities.
One of the reasons I took up the gaming job is because it’s rather nearby
(despite the carpool). I don’t dare venture into SimCity, even if it is to get
my hands on some supplies: these people don’t survive without me.
Or, well…
Poor Lenor.
JJ was starting to feel a little washed out, so I started courting Jan as
well. According to my diagnostic abilities they both fit into the Romance
category, so they shouldn’t mind it.
Not that I’m outright telling them about the other.
“I’m so tired of seeing public canoodling every morning, you know?”
“Me too. By the way, can I have your phone number?”
Russell is maturing more and more for each day that goes by. I just
hope the circumstances aren’t ripping too much of his childhood away
from him…
He’s a very bouncy kid. He runs around a lot, sometimes even pulling
pranks on the others.
I managed to get him a trial day at the local school, but he skipped the bus in
order to get the sleep he needed.
Hearing things like that tear my heart.
The gender stereotypes may have some truth in them: guys are not
helpful when it comes to taking care of children.
And thanks to some GENIUS knocking over the thrash can -
- we now have roaches and a flu going around.
As if I didn’t have enough to think about as it is.
The lack of beds has forced me to the coffee maker, which then forces me
to go upstairs to use the bathroom, which is tiring and therefore requires
more coffee.
I hope I don’t get an addiction out of this.
I try to spend as much quality time with my child as possible.
Not just for the sake of family relationships, but to relieve the pain and
hardships he and his surrogate brothers have to witness.
Russell is such a trooper.
He cries only when he thinks I can’t see him.
It’s a shame that I had to gain experience first, but at long last I
managed to win a battle against the dreaded reaper.
“Zank you! I am eternally in debt!”
“Yeah could we save that hug for later? You stink of more than just
corpse…”
After letting Russell observe the little bit of hope we all carry with us that
just may come true, I started seeing another side of him… a crueler side.
I try to teach my son values to hold onto and roads to stick to, but I fear
he might not take my lectures to heart.
The twins just keep on growing…
…and the night belongs to the ghosts.
“How dare she mistreat my spawn!”
“OLAF IS MAD ABOUT STARVING!”
“Et tu, Brute?!”
“AAAH! THIS IS WORSE THAN THE COCKROACHES!”
When Sunday came around, I felt that Jan was no longer as interesting
as I’d made her out to be. Of course we still spent the day together.
Then, when night rolled around, the inevitable finally occurred.
…
Well, I guess there’s nothing else left to do.
Double-check that the door is locked…
…and never look back.
Days passed: 21
Dream Dates: 25
Outtakes ->
“She’ll probably appreciate this DJ booth I got for her. I carefully picked
it out to suit her needs and circumstances.”
“Y’know JJ, helping out around the house is much more romantic than
leaving rose bouquets at the door.”
“Nonsense, darling.”
“I’ll give that chick a DJ booth. Chicks love DJ booths.”
If the stairs would have been blocked due to this my face would have
come off either from laughing, crying or headdesking.
Probably all three.
Behold, Bluewater Village Nursery!
Amount of deaths in the bathroom: 5 out of 8 total
Amount of deaths where a kid has been present: 7 out of 8 total
I wasn’t sure of what to do with the loveseat when I needed to down-
size to one seat, so I deleted the whole thing and replaced it with
something similar motive and looks wise.
Apparently sims can snooze in it, but only autonomously :O
“Mothership! Must alert mothership!”
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Which reminds me…
I know you’ve been aching to find out, so here are the kids’ personalities.
The alien twins are named after the first two dogs that were shot into space
(but not into orbit). I think I’ll name all my aliens after Russians from here on
out (it sounds so exotic, no?).
Russell
Dezik
Tsygan
(Alien eyes)
(Blue eyes)
Isn’t that a nice childhood so
far?
I regulary checked Russell’s
motives as he’s technically a
continuation of Minuura, but I
didn’t control him or the twins.
