MINUURA’S MISSION
This place is nothing short of exhausting.
I missed a day’s paycheck trying to keep my patients alive.
Unfortunately it was of no aid.
On a warm Monday morning, at the beginning of summer, I
discovered that Charles was no longer with us.
One might think I’ve been influenced by my patients, but the
tales are true, I saw it with my own eyes. The Grim Reaper exists,
and even offered me a chance to save Charles.
I failed.
What’s even more unbelievable is that at the time of his death, a
bed and one of the kitchen chairs disappeared into thin air.
I’ve been making angry phone calls to headquarters just about
every day, but the ones answering brush me aside like these
types of things were nothing out of the ordinary.
“Tommy Ottomas, renounced scientist in the field of robotics,
was recently found dead in his apartment. An autopsy is yet to
be made, but the police do not suspect murder…
Maybe now we can uze ze telezcope in peace.”
Varyo: “It must be dark outside, because all the sunshine in the
world is right here.”
Kris: “You’ve got it wrong. It’s light in this room because there is
sunshine outside.”
“L’amour! How I want it! But Star is ze only one for ‘om I can love…”
I am getting more and more frustrated at headquarters.
Not only do I have to keep mental patients alive with limited
resources, but also act as a maid, cook and repair lady, whenever
I’m not at my other job.
Luckily Charlie finally answered my calls, and has been more
than willing to help turn my frown upside down.
Nargil: “My, what a fascinating act!”
Varyo: “Yeah, nature documentaries sure are the best.”
Minuura: “Mmph, get out!”
“You guys do realise that the screen reflects everything, right?”
“SHOO”
“Oui, it is odd for me to be up at zis ‘our, but zanks to ze weazer le
soleil won’t get to moi.”
“Whatever purple man says.”
Lenor: “Yeah, he’s going to have zero success with that one.”
Nargil has been starting to emit a strange glow whenever music
is involved. He attributes it to his alien heritage.
At this point I’m ready to believe in just about anything.
Like the fact that Charles’ spirit has been roaming the building.
Kris was the first one to be haunted.
Due to the bedding situation no one really seems to care
anymore about sleeping next to one another.
Though we could still use another bathroom. Or two.
Especially with the new addition to the household…
Charlie wasn’t all that sure about what to do when I told him the
news, and even doubted whether he really was the father or not.
Moments of hesitation later he agreed to take his responsibility, as
long as it wouldn’t tie him down to one woman. Which, I told him,
he so far hadn’t been.
Soon he ended up seeing the less gracious side of
childbearing.
He told me he wanted nothing to do with neither me nor the
baby, and walked right out of the door.
I can’t find it in my heart to blame him. Sure, pregnancies are
tough, but the blame is mine too for not being careful.
Oh gosh, listen to me. I’m defending a deadbeat dad.
“How dare you break the shower right after it was fixed!”
“Says the one who broke both the trash compactor and dishwasher.”
“I told you, it wasn’t me!”
“The mothership! B-b-but I’m not ready yet!”
“That spacecraft makes way too much noise!”
“Woo! I believe ze boy has gotten some action!”
“So, what was it like? They didn’t force-feed you with cheese,
did they?”
“I don’t think so… but my butt is sore…”
“So, you got some clouds in the way of your pick-up line?”
“Olaf thinks you should give up already.”
I’m glad that JJ didn’t back away when he saw that I was
pregnant. I wanted to talk to him about whether or not he could
step in as a father figure, since the baby might be his after all…
…but the time had arrived.
JJ tried to call an ambulance, but they wouldn’t have gotten there
in time. So I gave birth right on the sidewalk.
The first time I saw him I couldn’t help but think of how beautiful
he is. My very own son. Russell, the apple of my eye, forever.
I’m a bit anxious about leaving him at home, but it shouldn’t be
all that bad. It might even be good practice for the patients.
No, my son is not to be used in experiments, if that’s what you
thought I meant.
All sorts of reports, letters and voicemails have been sent to
headquarters, and you can guess how that went.
In the meantime I’m adding piano tuning to my long list of skills.
I too got a visit from Charles.
“Adultery! Unwed mother! Hussy!”
Why can’t he just rest in peace?
“Who’s the cutest little schnookum in the world? You are! Yes you
are! I could just eat you up!”
“Listen here, you old hag! I was not spying on you, and I certainly
had nothing to do with your son’s death. I will count to ten, and if
you aren’t gone before that…!”
“Curses! I have still not gained full control of the human climate!”
Life is hectic around here, but I have found different ways to calm
myself down. One of them being meditation.
You’d be surprised at the things I stumble upon in that bookcase.
“I’m starving!”
“Olaf thinks stinky diaper needs bottle.”
There’s still a long, bumpy road before we can reach perfection.
But with Russell in my arms, I feel as if everything and anything
is possible.
Days passed: 14
Dream Dates: 17
Outtakes ->
I know someone who could do that for you (◣_◢)
The date plunged down to horrible even though they’re both in
love, and even rolled marriage-wants at one point.
“That kid is going to have one messed up childhood.”
“You comfortable down there, blocking the way?”
I’m never quite sure whether these are outings or dates,
especially when the caller’s a Romance sim…
Also, last time I looked, Varyo was in red. That is one comeback.
That’s all for this time.
Happy simming!
(And yes, it’s still summer in this picture.)
