MINDSET

What is a Mindset?
• A mindset refers to whether you believe qualities such as intelligence and
talent are fixed or changeable traits. It is a set of assumptions, methods, or
notations held by one or more people or groups of people.
• It is a habitual or characteristic mental attitude that determines how you
will interpret and respond to situations.
Fixed Mindset vs. Growth Mindset:
What REALLY Matters for Success
• According to researcher Carol Dweck, there are two types of mindsets: a fixed
mindset and a growth mindset
• In a fixed mindset, people believe their qualities are fixed traits and therefore
cannot change. These people document their intelligence and talents rather than
working to develop and improve them. They also believe that talent alone leads
to success, and effort is not required.
• Alternatively, in a growth mindset, people have an underlying belief that their
learning and intelligence can grow with time and experience. When people
believe they can become smarter they realize that their effort has an effect on
their success, so they put in extra time, leading to higher achievement.
Why Mindset is so Important?
• It frames our self-concept (the
comprehensive view we have about
ourselves). Mindset (a strong and
positive one) is essential to developing
healthy self-esteem. It is
an important tool that affects our daily
self-dialogue and reinforces our most
intimate beliefs, attitudes and feelings
about ourselves.
• Having an optimistic mindset increases
the likelihood of formulating a
winning perspective and achieving long-
term success.
Some Examples of Growth Mindset to
change your Beliefs:
• It’s never too late to learn!
• It’s ok if I fail, at least I learned something!
• I can always improve at something if I try!
• What can I do better next time to make this work?
• This challenge is a good opportunity for me to learn.
• I believe in myself.
Conclusion:
Your Mind is the powerful thing. With the
right mindset you can turn your WEAKNESS
into your STRENGHTS
THANK YOU
