Mimar Sinan was the chief architect of the Ottoman Empire who lived during the 16th century. He designed around 360 structures during his career, including many mosques, schools, and palaces. Some of his most notable works include the Suleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul, which he considered his greatest work, and the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne, which featured the largest dome he ever designed. Mimar Sinan made important contributions to architecture and established himself as one of the greatest architects in Ottoman and world history.
