The Female Millennial: A New Era of Talent
Organisations are currently facing the challenges that come with vast numbers of millennial talent entering
and reshaping the workforce. In parallel, they are also challenged with a lack of women in leadership posi-
tions and fast becoming concerned with the financial and competitive toll this could mean for their organi-
sations.
• Organisations looking to address the gender leadership gap must drive parallel efforts that tackle en-
hanced leadership diversity in conjunction with systemic change efforts targeting the workforce from day 1
• To get this right, organisations must better understand how to attract, develop, engage and retain female
millennial talent.
• Our research identifies that one thing is clear: when it comes to the female millennial we really are talking
about a new era of talent.
This presentation will explore the findings from latest millennial research study, providing insights into the
minds of the female millennial.

Bridging the gap between the academic and the business world
When we focus on the Belgian IT market, there are 3 large gaps between the academic and the business
world:
1) A structural shortage of highly technically skilled graduates. Is there still fish in the pond?
2) Millennials have different expectations of ‘working’ than previous generations. They want something else
but what exactly?
3) The knowledge and skills they bring from their education are not sufficient to get them integrated quickly
in a professional organization. How do we really get them on board?
And yet some companies seem to have no problem at all with attracting, integrating and keeping these
‘smart creatives’ on board. Why do they succeed where other companies fail? What are they doing different-
ly? How are they bridging these gaps? (SESSION NOTE CONTINUED)
6. (Continued) In this interactive session, we will try to formulate an answer to these questions with in-
sights and critical success factors to stay ahead in ‘the war for talent’ on following topics:
• Talent acquisition • Talent integration • Talent retention
12:40 – 13:45 Networking Lunch
13:45 – 14:30 Johannes Sundlo
HR Controller / SPOTIFY
Social Media Is Dead: Long Live Social Media
Social media is no longer a specific media. It just is. And it is a crucial part for millions of people so we in
the HR arena need to get it and we need to get it right.
• How do we work with social media as an integrated part of the everyday HR-work
• How do we use it to attract world-class talent?
14:30 – 15:15 Dev Nadya Powell
Managing Director / LOST BOYS INTL.
Millennial Talent: The Pirate Within
Nadya is passionate about the importance of young talent in driving business success. Most recently
she co-founded Millennial Mentoring which aims to flip the traditional relationship where business
mentors Millennials and instead Millennials mentor business.
Her talk will focus on the key differences in Millennial behaviour and expectations, she will then focus
on the importance of hiring diverse Millennial talent and not repeating the hiring mistakes of old. Fi-
nally she will focus on four key ways to develop and retain Millennial talent within your organisations.
Fundamentally it is all about freeing the Pirate within.
