Culture Is Not Beer on Fridays. How to Developa Culture That
Matters and Will Help You Win.
Company culture is all the buzz in the business world today. Some companies provide free
lunches, and onsite amenities like dog sitters and hair salons; however, Anna Binder knows that
boosting company morale means more that free beer on Fridays. Changing company culture for
the new way to work is a requirement for the modern business but creating a great one is not
easy. Physical environment, technology, transparency, leadership and many other factors all
have a role to play in creating an environment where employees are engaged, happy, and always
performing at high levels.
Anna will share with us the most important factors for creating a desirable corporate culture, one
which lead to being ranked by Glassdoor as one of the best places to work in America as a great
place to work.

Leading and Engagingthe MillennialWorkforce Leadingand
Engagingthe MillennialWorkforce
Today's employers and managers have to think differently to fully engage the millennial
generation. Millennials craft their "career path" more like a passport of life experiences and they
pick up skills like we would stamps on our passport. They are not climbing a "ladder". They are
motivated by purpose and curiosity. They are the first digitally native generation - the rest of us
adapted/faked it. They are also the most socially engaged community, leveraging their network to
live their lives. So how does today's manager hire and fully engage that type of talent? How long
will they stay in any one position or company? How does the new employer / employee compact

compelling case for change in order to secure adequate funding and resourcing, and derive
maximum value from social technologies across the enterprise. It also requires the ability to
identify and prioritize business issues and requirements in order to build a holistic, end-to-end

and change management, integration with business processes, as well as an effective
governance model, in order to be both successful and sustainable.

business transformation framework. She will also share the company’s approach to its cultural

The Rise of Freelancing and How to Create Flexible Teams
In a report released last month, Staffing Industry Analysts estimated that independent consultants
did $1 trillion of work globally in 2013. Fifty three million Americans freelanced last year -- more
than a third of our workforce, and is projected to reach 40% by 2020. What does this mean for
your business? Rich Pearson will answer this question and discuss other realities and
opportunities businesses are facing, including what might it look like if you rebuilt your team from
scratch; what are examples of businesses innovating their hiring approach by tapping into
freelancers; and how does hiring freelancers and building flexible teams work?

Airbnb Awesome Office Tour
Constructed into a sleek environment, the Airbnb Headquarters is located in a space that was
once a former industrial manufacturing facility, built in 1917. The light-soaked office is a reflection
of both the brand, and the tech world’s new way of working. A massive open atrium welcomes
visitors to Airbnb office. The 72,000-square-foot space is equipped with art installations, a
cafeteria named Ate Ate Ate (a pun after the building’s 888 address), conference rooms that are
inspired by actual Airbnb global listings, and exposed hallways that encourage a flow and allow
employees to feel free to work wherever they want.
Airbnb will give us a guided tour of their HQ and provide a sneak peek into their as yet, unopened
new floor, followed by a Q&A session. Be prepared for lots of design eye candy.
