Milestones are important events in project management that mark the completion of deliverables or phases. They can signal that a key task was finished on time or that a critical decision was made. Milestones allow project managers to accurately assess whether a project is on schedule when used with scheduling methods like PERT or CPM. However, milestones only show progress on critical paths and may ignore non-critical tasks. Milestone Professional is a project scheduling software that helps users create presentation-ready Gantt charts and reports to keep projects organized and track their status through milestones. It provides features like stoplight templates and single page presentation reports.
Software Project Management | An Overview of the Software Project ManagementAhsan Rahim
Management is the process of getting things done through others, it is the process of coordinating people & other resources to achieve the goals of the organization. A project is a set of related tasks that are coordinated to achieve a specific objective in a given time limit. A project is well-defined task, which is a collection of several operations done in order to achieve a goal. Software is the program & all associated documentation & configuration data which is needed to make these programs operate correctly.
A Software Project is the complete procedure of software development from requirement gathering to testing & maintenance, carried out according to the execution methodologies, in a specified period of time to achieve intended software product.
Introduction to Software Project ManagementSaadi Jadoon
Project management software is software used for project planning, scheduling, resource allocation and change management. It allows project managers (PMs), stakeholders and users to control costs and manage budgeting, quality management and documentation and also may be used as an administration system.
Software Project Management (monitoring and control)IsrarDewan
Monitoring and Controlling are processes needed to track, review, and regulate the progress and performance of the project. It also identifies any areas where changes to the project management method are required and initiates the required changes.

Agile and Traditional Project Management Homogeneous or Hybrid Mike Otranto
Gartner reports that 75% to 80% of organizations are using some form of agile project management process. Although agile project management has been around for many years, the way we adapt it has changed significantly, especially as project portfolio management (PPM) practices have evolved.
In today's businesses, technology plays a crucial role in our success, but technology also makes things more uncertain. This uncertainty has given us the motive to be more flexible and requires a “think on your feet” mentality. For this reason, we have seen a big spike in Agile PPM over the last few years. So how do we continue to deliver stability and efficiency, the result of traditional style PPM, while also giving in to necessary risks that lead to innovation and competitive edge? It’s simple…. we accept the value in each method, avoid the inevitable pains that will develop with segregation, and opt for a unified agile and traditional PPM model.
Join us in this webinar presentation as we discuss the benefits of bringing Agile and Traditional Project Portfolio Management together in one environment. Topics include:
- The Project Management Evolution
- Agile Project Managment Overview
- The Benefits of Hybrid/Unified PPM
- Hybrid Project Management Tools to Support Today’s PPM
This lecture helps to learn how different types of processes are managed while executing a software project. this is core responsibility and one the most technical and difficult task of project manager.
A brief introduction tot project management for learners, a simplified lay man introduction thet will give insight into what Project Management is all about.

Generating a custom Ruby SDK for your web service or Rails API using Smithyg2nightmarescribd
Have you ever wanted a Ruby client API to communicate with your web service? Smithy is a protocol-agnostic language for defining services and SDKs. Smithy Ruby is an implementation of Smithy that generates a Ruby SDK using a Smithy model. In this talk, we will explore Smithy and Smithy Ruby to learn how to generate custom feature-rich SDKs that can communicate with any web service, such as a Rails JSON API.
LF Energy Webinar: Electrical Grid Modelling and Simulation Through PowSyBl -...DanBrown980551
Do you want to learn how to model and simulate an electrical network from scratch in under an hour?
Then welcome to this PowSyBl workshop, hosted by Rte, the French Transmission System Operator (TSO)!
During the webinar, you will discover the PowSyBl ecosystem as well as handle and study an electrical network through an interactive Python notebook.
PowSyBl is an open source project hosted by LF Energy, which offers a comprehensive set of features for electrical grid modelling and simulation. Among other advanced features, PowSyBl provides:
- A fully editable and extendable library for grid component modelling;
- Visualization tools to display your network;
- Grid simulation tools, such as power flows, security analyses (with or without remedial actions) and sensitivity analyses;
The framework is mostly written in Java, with a Python binding so that Python developers can access PowSyBl functionalities as well.
What you will learn during the webinar:
- For beginners: discover PowSyBl's functionalities through a quick general presentation and the notebook, without needing any expert coding skills;

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

2. Milestone in project management
• Within the framework of project management, a milestone is an
event that receives special attention. It is often put at the end of
a stage to mark the completion of a work package or phase.
Milestones can be put before the end of a phase so that
corrective actions can be taken, if problems arise, and the
deliverable can be completed on time.
• In addition to signaling the completion of a key deliverable, a
milestone may also signify an important decision or the
derivation of a critical piece of information, which outlines or
affects the future of a project.
3. Milestone in project management
• A milestone not only signifies distance traveled (key stages in a
project) but also indicates direction of travel since key decisions
made at milestones may alter the route through the project plan.
• When combined with a scheduling methodology such
as Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) or
the Critical Path Method(CPM), milestones allow project
management to much more accurately determine whether or
not the project is on schedule.
4. Milestone in project management
•
Milestones are frequently used to monitor the progress, but there are
limitations to their effectiveness.
• They usually show progress only on the critical path, and ignore non-critical
activities.
•
It is common for resources to be moved from non-critical activities to critical
activities to ensure that milestones are met.
• This gives the impression that the project is on schedule when actually some
activities are being ignored.
• Milestones are like dashboard reviews of a project. Number of activities which
were planned at the beginning of the project with their individual timelines
are reviewed for their status. It also gives an opportunity to check the health
of the project.
