The document provides a summary of Arthur P. McGregor's work experience, including his current role as Associate Director for Kinetic Weapons Technologies at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, where he oversees $750M in annual spending on kinetic weapons science and technology programs. It details his participation in reviews of major defense acquisition programs and technology assessments. The document also outlines his prior experience in university research programs at the Department of Defense and engineering roles related to night vision and electro-optical systems.
This document provides definitions and diagrams related to macroeconomics concepts including:
- Definitions of macroeconomics, national income, GDP, GNP, real GDP
- Circular flow diagrams showing flows between households, firms, government
- Components of aggregate demand and supply
- Causes of shifts in aggregate demand and short-run aggregate supply
- Business cycles and use of diagrams to illustrate macroeconomic goals
- Unemployment, inflation, and Phillips curve concepts
- Monetary and fiscal policy approaches and their strengths/weaknesses
The document discusses various macroeconomic concepts related to fiscal and monetary policy such as:
- Supply side policies can shift the LRAS curve to increase potential output without raising inflation.
- Fiscal policy tools like government spending, taxation, and transfers can be used for demand management.
- Monetary policy tools like interest rates can influence money supply and demand to impact output and inflation.
- Crowding out refers to how increased government spending and borrowing can reduce private investment by raising interest rates.
Short-run economic fluctuations are caused by shifts in aggregate demand and aggregate supply. A decrease in aggregate demand causes output to fall in the short run as the economy enters a recession, with declining GDP and rising unemployment. In the long run, output returns to its natural rate. An adverse shift in aggregate supply also causes output to fall and can lead to stagflation, with both recession and inflation. Policymakers aim to stabilize output by influencing aggregate demand.
This week our students have had the opportunity to be part of real-time current events. With the media circus buzzing around Kony2012, Invisible Children, and the LRA – I created a (fairly) student-friendly powerpoint that objectively explains the background of Kony and the LRA. I am not getting into the hype surrounding supporters and opponents of Invisible Children, but have included them as well as other organizations at the end of the presentation to give students options regarding how to get involved.
No matter what people feel about Invisible Children, it’s obvious that they have created a successful awareness raising campaign. My students have had a lot of questions about the whole situation, so I created this powerpoint that I am now sharing with you.
This document describes key macroeconomic concepts related to aggregate demand and aggregate supply, including:
1) The components of aggregate demand (C, I, G, X-M) and factors that can change each component.
2) The short-run and long-run aggregate supply curves and how costs of production and productivity can cause shifts.
3) Using AD/AS models to illustrate inflationary and deflationary gaps and analyze the effects of fiscal and monetary policy changes.
A2 Economics Exam Technique - Weesteps to Evaluationtutor2u
While low inflation used to be a top priority, it may no longer be appropriate given today's economic context. High unemployment and the risk of deflation are more immediate concerns. However, maintaining some inflation target is still important for long-term stability and investment. Overall, the appropriate policy priorities depend on weighing these different factors against the wider economic situation.

The DENR Rationalization Plan
Presented By Undersecretary Teresita Castillo during the Lecture Series on April 17, 2008 at 1:00PM at the HRDS Function Room, DENR Compound, Quezon City
The document discusses risk assessment requirements and strategies for conducting risk assessments in a less prescriptive regulatory environment. It outlines the need to conduct overarching, local, medical surveillance, emergency response, and communication risk assessments. Local risk assessments require identifying hazards, likelihood of occurrence, and consequences for specific experimental protocols. Considerations for viral vector systems include potential for replication-competent viruses and effects of foreign proteins. A less prescriptive approach requires more documentation to justify flexibility in work environments and procedures.
The document discusses the role of eco-design in achieving a circular economy, noting that ACR+ is a network of over 90 local and regional authorities from 23 countries that works to promote circular economy principles. It explains that local and regional authorities can support the circular economy through eco-design by establishing permitting criteria, providing training, and engaging in green public procurement to boost eco-innovation among small and medium enterprises.
This document provides an overview of aggregate supply (AS) in macroeconomics. It defines aggregate supply as the quantity of goods and services producers are willing and able to supply at a given price level. The short-run aggregate supply curve shows the relationship between real GDP and the price level in the short-term. Factors like input costs, taxes, and supply shocks can cause the short-run AS curve to shift. In the long-run, aggregate supply is determined by factors of production and technology.

Thank you for your interest in Mil-Pac technology products. This presentation is an overview of the solutions that Mil-Pac technology provides for defense suppliers
Defense suppliers have three separate but overlapping mandates with which they must comply. The radio frequency identification or RFID mandate requires Department of Defense suppliers to use radio frequency identification to identify shipping containers and packages. The unique identification or UID mandate requires Department of Defense suppliers to uniquely mark specific parts and equipment. Wide area work flow is the government’s electronic vendor payment system. These three mandates have overlapping requirements--UID marked parts will require RFID unit container labeling in 2007. RFID and UID data are required as inputs to wide area work flow. MilPac technology has a separate presentation that covers the three mandates in more detail .
We can divide DoD supplier needs into three broad categories: Container Marking Electronic Transactions Forms Automation We’ll use these three categories to describe how Mil-Pac Technology assists DoD suppliers.
Let’s start our tour of Mil-Pac products with Container Marking, since it tends to be the most tangible.
Some of the key features of Mil-Pac’s container marking software are: Let’s delve into each of these areas.
Over 60 different label formats. MSL, Exterior Container, Intermediate Container, Unit Container. Anything a supplier might need to comply with Mil-Std 129.
Variety of UID Construct Type 1 and Type 2 labels. Container marking and Direct Part Marking (rolling out support for different label sizes and hardware devices)
Barcoded serial number list. DVD label GSA Transport label Ammunition/Explosives Load Entity label Address and Mark For labels
Because this is a DoD compliance solution, it is uncluttered by data and label formats required only for CPG or other needs. Pre-built formats means that suppliers can easily be compliant without having to build and maintain their own formats. When the DoD changes requirements, we change our software to keep the suppliers compliant.
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Embedded RFID tag is encoded as the label is printed. Automatic! No extra effort required from the Std-Barc user. Unique Identification (UID) Prints UID container marking labels and part marking labels. Automatically associates UID data with RFID data and contract data. Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) Label data, RFID tag data, and UID data can flow automatically From other software (including Mil-Pac FormStation and DD-Master) To other Mil-Pac software (RFID Load Manager) or other data systems to transmit electronically to WAWF. No WAWF Web Interface data entry required! No redundant data entry!

Now let’s look at how Mil-Pac Technology assists with Electronic Transactions required by DoD.
Other WAWF transactions = Public/Cost Voucher Transaction & Progress Payment Transaction
Mil-Pac processed 27K WAWF transactions in 2004, and 48K transactions in 2005 VAN services manage WAWF transactions, UID Registry transactions, as well as Vendor Managed Inventory and Performance Based Logistics VMI & PBL transactions go to DFAS, DLA, and NAVICP.
Finally, let’s look at how Mil-Pac Technology software helps with forms automation.
Forms are paper and electronic (where appropriate)
Even RFID was a no-cost upgrade.
Import is via industry-standard XML or much simpler text file report format.
Now let’s take a look at the plumbing of how the Mil-Pac solution works.
A good starting point for examining the Mil-Pac solution plumbing is Std-Barc. Currently on third major version. First version released almost 20 years ago. 1,200 installed copies. Built from the ground up expressly for United States Department of Defense suppliers. Integrates with other Mil-Pac software and ERP systems. Many user interface helpers and data look-ups. Single user or multiple users.
Commercial off-the-shelf application software. Built from the ground up for United States Department of Defense suppliers. Generates WAWF Advanced Shipment Notice Fully supports new initiatives – RFID & UID. Integrates with other Mil-Pac software. Single user or multiple users. *************************** Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Fully supports RFID data in the Advanced Shipment Notice (ASN) for: Pallets Exterior Containers (aka Cases) UID Unit Containers Automatic! Little effort required from the user. Fully automatic for Case Loads Point and Click palletization Unique Identification (UID) Supports both UID Construct 1 & 2
Standard bark in a rough idea load manager can work alone but to gain even greater efficiencies and FormStation wordy master FormStation provides all the forms automation to allow you to input data for a duty to 50 were receiving report as well as to be able to submit invoicing or combo transactions
Mil-Pac software can operate as a standalone solution or can be integrated into egg sustained in a price systems are contract systems data can be exported from contract systems or in a price systems into DD-FormStation or directly into standard bark avoiding redundant entry of data and opportunity for mistakes and excess labor costs
Lets talk for a minute about what I saw for integration can be so important for Department of Defense suppliers
Prior to implementation of Mil-Pac solutions department offense suppliers typically operate in this fashion date is entered into financial or your pieces to me and or contract system this same date as entered again into some sort of forms preparation software a word processor even typewriters to prepare D. two fifties and other forms the same date is entered again into label print software or word processor or typewriter to prepare the exterior container labels and military shipping labels as a minimum the same data made then be entered it can to prepare unit container labels intermediate container labels you ID labels and any other labels that would be required for the shipment commonly we see that this data is not shared even in whatever fashion are using to print labels between next year container labels in the cells unit container labels but the date is entered for each of these types of label separately commonly there would be templates war, previously prepared labels that can be called up changed in and then reprinted but this is all done manually causing excess labor as well as introducing opportunities for errors In the same late in the same data is entered again into wide area work flow to prepare receiving reports pack update invoices
So let’s take a look at what this data looks like they would have to be entered in and here’s sample data for three exterior containers on two pilots the red text represents the RF ID data that would have to be entered Into wide area work flow
The DLA-BSM Internet Bid Board System (DIBBS) is a web-based application that provides the capability to search for, view, and submit secure quotes on Requests For Quotations (RFQs). ProGate - The Procurement Gateway allows prospective government contractors to perform comprehensive and detailed searches against Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Award documents. VMI – Vendor Managed Inventory Sold to government, but in bonded storage at supplier facility. PBL- Performance Based Logistics WebCAV – Web Commercial Asset Visibility is used at Government and Commercial Repair sites to monitor and track the progress of repair components through the repair process. PIPC – Property in Possession of Contractor is government property in the possession of the contractor.
