This document discusses 6 common misconceptions that organizations have about complying with IUID and RFID standards for DoD contracts. The misconceptions are: 1) A barcode being scannable does not mean it is compliant. 2) All inventory sizes require full compliance. 3) Simply marking an item is not enough, it must also be registered. 4) Spreadsheets are not suitable for asset data management. 5) Office supply stores may not have materials that meet standards. 6) Shipment alone does not guarantee payment, items must pass inspection. Complying with all standards is necessary to avoid rejected shipments or delayed payments.
