EXERCISE N° 1
1) Charlie: the exercise is very difficult.
2) Anne: Charlie told me that the
exercise was very difficult.
Exercise instruction: Rewrite the sentence
using reported speech.
Both sentences have the same meaning, the
exercise is difficult for Charlie. But it is
expressed in different grammatical forms,
the first sentence is in direct speech while
the second one is in reported speech.
This topic refers to the replacement of words
by synonyms or words that are part of the
same family to express the same meaning but
in different forms.
Exercise instruction: Complete with the words in the box in order to
make it has sense.
EXERCISE N° 2
HIM / HE / HIS
David was born in Ecuador. ____ lives in
Galapagos Islands but ____ family is from
Guayaquil, and they love ____ so much.
In this sentence we have the proper noun
“David”, that can be replaced by the personal
pronoun “he” or “him” as well as by its
possessive “his”. In all parts of the text, we
still refer to the same person but in different
grammatical forms.
