Operations Partner (2006-2007)
Joined this medical software company that was struggling with product development and leadership issues and
established it as a revolution in electronic medical records (EMR); company was founded by healthcare and
technology professionals to establish a service that addressed the unique challenges of healthcare practice
management. Direct operating, marketing, and software development functions; extensive focus on leveraging
years of healthcare knowledge and assembling a comprehensive system of people, engineers, hosting, and
support to customize technologies in an effort to meet the needs of and requirements of specialized practices.
• Product/Technology Development – Collaborated with the CEO on completing the developmentand licensing
process for an Electronic Medical Records product designed for orthopedic practices; other products include a
premiere Internet-based ASP service for the chiropractic profession, and a SmartClient application is
updated via the Internet and works to improve efficiency, patient services, and staff effectiveness while
reducing IT costs.
WARREN COUNTY, Lake George, NY
Chairman, Healthcare (2003-2006)
Approached by local government to complete predecessor’s remaining term as Warren County Supervisor and
subsequently reelected to become the Chairman of Healthcare for the county. Scope of responsibility included
overseeing an assisted living facility, home healthcare programs, and a skilled nursing facility in the county.

• Joint Venture & New Businesses – Elected Chairman of the Adirondack Regional Business Incubator, a
group working as part of a joint venture with economic development organizations to acquire and renovate a
facility to be used as a technology incubator. Instrumental in securing $1.3+ million in federal and state
grants and local matches totaling $650,000 for the project; incubator program provides counseling, financing
and other services to small start-up companies, with the goal of fostering new businesses that will grow and
relocate to area industrial parks.
• Telemedicine Program – Brought the county to the new millennium from an IT perspective by instituting a
telemedicine program for home healthcare; telemedicine enables basic medical procedures to be performed
(e.g., taking pulse and blood pressure), medical information to be transferred via the telephone and/or
Internet for the purpose of analysis, real-time consultation, and ongoing daily monitoring of home
healthcare patients.

Served on various non-profit Community Boards, including the YMCA and Literacy Volunteers of America, a

additional promotion to Senior Vice President. In charge of operating 1200 independent living units, 400
assisted living facilities, and 1000 skilled nursing facilities; total of 3000 employees.
• Turnaround – Spearheaded turnaround effort that established the healthcare center as one of the most
profitable facilities in the state.
• Organic Growth – Accelerated organic growth by identifying and capitalizing on companies’ providing
services to Southern Management. Established several ancillary companies, including the start up,
development, and operation of Medcare Services, a national medical supply and Medicare billing company.

nursing facility and re-zoned property to develop an assisted living facility for this provider of eldercare and
rehabilitative services.
• Administrator – AMERICAN MEDICAL AFFILIATES, Rockledge, FL. Orchestrated successful turnaround
of this nursing home facility in one year. Created an entire system of business and operating processes,
provided staff with motivational leadership and proper training, and consistently passed all federal and
state inspections with a perfect rating. Professionalized the organization.

Provided vision, direction, and leadership to this federation of facilities representing long-term care providers;
organization works to educate society and government on the value of investing in the well-being of elderly and
disabled individuals, and ensure access to their long-term care.
• Served as one of the primary volunteer lobbyists focused on achieving improved regulatory standards, and
furthered FHCA’s goals of developing public policies that balance economic and regulatory principles to
support quality of care and qualify of life. Instituted quality care focus and public relations efforts. Featured
in the Association’s published book, 50 Years of Caring; acknowledged as the youngest President to lead a
FHCA healthcare association.
