MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION
Objectives
1.To gain understanding on
how MG-DLP is prepared
and utilized;
2. Identify the features of MG-
DLP
MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION
The icons are interpreted as follows:
Direct Teaching
The teacher is directly teaching or assessing the group/grade.
Group Activity
The group/grade is having a group work with less monitoring
and supervision of the teacher.
Individual Activity
The pupils are doing individual activity all at the same time with
the guidance and monitoring of the teacher.
Assessment
The pupil/group/teacher is doing an assessment activity.

The whole Class Instruction is intended for the introduction where the
teacher may address all grade levels as one group.

One of the functions of
instructional Manager is to plan
instruction. The sources of your
teacher instructional competency
is the Curriculum Guide (CG)
which was already prepared
through Budget of Work (BOW) in
the different learning areas.
Features of MG-DLP
MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION
Before the teacher actually writes the
lesson plan based on the pre-assessment
results, he/she has to determine first what
teaching scheme or way of teaching
he/she is going to use. The objectives /
skills develop in all the groups will tell
what scheme is the most appropriate.
The teaching schemes will likewise
suggest the format of the lesson plan.

Features of MG-DLP
1. Multigrade Teaching Scheme:
There are five (5) schemes in handling
multi-grade classes. These are as
follows:
Scheme A - learning objectives of all
groups are common in terms of
behavior and content;
The different teaching scheme are the following:

In application and evaluation, give
differentiated self-directed, self-checking
and self-scoring seatwork (Self Directed,
Self Checking and Self Scoring
Seatwork) exercises to the three groups.
Then give on the spot corrective
instruction one after the other.

Scheme A - learning objectives of all groups
are common in terms of behavior and content

the same instructional objective while the other
grade has a different objective.

Scheme D - there are three (3) developmental
lessons because the instructional objective of
the three groups have no commonality.

Scheme E - objective/skill in the first grade is a
prerequisite to the next grade level, and the skill
in the second grade is a prerequisite to the skill
in the third grade.

2. Classroom Management/Shifting of
Teacher from one Grade to another is
guided with the use of the four icons such
as direct teaching (T),
individual/independent learning (I),
group activity (G), and
assessment (A).

3. Differentiated Instruction (DI) is a child
centered approach by providing learners with
different avenues to learning in terms of: acquiring
content; processing, constructing, or making
sense of ideas; and developing teaching materials
and assessment measures so that all learners
within a classroom can learn effectively
regardless of differences in ability. Learners are
engaged in group and individual instruction with
varied activities.

4. Varied learning activities with
appropriate materials are
provided suited for struggling,
on-level and advanced levels of
learners. Learner Materials are
carefully made and prepared

  • 3. MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION The icons are interpreted as follows: Direct Teaching The teacher is directly teaching or assessing the group/grade. Group Activity The group/grade is having a group work with less monitoring and supervision of the teacher. Individual Activity The pupils are doing individual activity all at the same time with the guidance and monitoring of the teacher. Assessment The pupil/group/teacher is doing an assessment activity.   • 4. MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION The whole Class Instruction is intended for the introduction where the teacher may address all grade levels as one group.
  • 5. MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION One of the functions of instructional Manager is to plan instruction. The sources of your teacher instructional competency is the Curriculum Guide (CG) which was already prepared through Budget of Work (BOW) in the different learning areas. Features of MG-DLP

MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION Before the teacher actually writes the lesson plan based on the pre-assessment results, he/she has to determine first what teaching scheme or way of teaching he/she is going to use. The objectives / skills develop in all the groups will tell what scheme is the most appropriate. The teaching schemes will likewise suggest the format of the lesson plan.
  • 7. MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION Features of MG-DLP 1. Multigrade Teaching Scheme: There are five (5) schemes in handling multi-grade classes. These are as follows: Scheme A - learning objectives of all groups are common in terms of behavior and content; The different teaching scheme are the following:

MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION In application and evaluation, give differentiated self-directed, self-checking and self-scoring seatwork (Self Directed, Self Checking and Self Scoring Seatwork) exercises to the three groups. Then give on the spot corrective instruction one after the other.

(Note: Eng 4-6, Q3 – W3 – D4 ) IV Identify and use words that show degrees of comparison of adjectives in sentences EN4G-IIIc-14 V Use a particular kind of sentence for a specific purpose and audience asking permission, making requests EN5G-IIIa-1.8.1, 1.8.3 VI Use a particular kind of sentence for a specific purpose and audience making requests EN6G-IIIc-1.8.3

MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION IV V VI Solve routine and non- routine problems involving a simple experiment (M4SP-IVj-12) Solve routine and non- routine problems involving experimental probability. (M5SP-IVj-17) Solve routine and non- routine problems involving experimental and theoretical probability. (M6SP-IVj-24) Scheme C - three levels or groups have the same behavior but have different content or differ in difficulty. (Note: Math 4-6, Q4 – W9 , Domain – Probability and Statistics))
  • 12. MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION Scheme D - there are three (3) developmental lessons because the instructional objective of the three groups have no commonality. (Note: Science 4-6, Q4 – W9 IV V VI Describe the role of the Sun in the water cycle S4ES-IVi-10 Identify star patterns that can be seen at particular times of the year S5FE-IVi-j-1 Construct a model of the solar system showing the relative sizes of the planets and their relative distances from the sun S6ES-IVi-j-7

MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION Scheme E - objective/skill in the first grade is a prerequisite to the next grade level, and the skill in the second grade is a prerequisite to the skill in the third grade. (Note: Math 1-3, Q1 – W1 ) I II III Visualizes & represents numbers from 0 to 100 using a variety of materials Visualizes & represents numbers from 0 to 100 with emphasis on numbers 101 to 1,000 using a variety of materials Visualizes & represents numbers up to 10,000 with emphasis on numbers 1,001 to 10,000
  • 14. MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION 2. Classroom Management/Shifting of Teacher from one Grade to another is guided with the use of the four icons such as direct teaching (T), individual/independent learning (I), group activity (G), and assessment (A).
  • 15. MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION 3. Differentiated Instruction (DI) is a child centered approach by providing learners with different avenues to learning in terms of: acquiring content; processing, constructing, or making sense of ideas; and developing teaching materials and assessment measures so that all learners within a classroom can learn effectively regardless of differences in ability. Learners are engaged in group and individual instruction with varied activities.
  • 16. MULTIGRADE PROGRAM OF PHILIPPINE EDUCATION 4. Varied learning activities with appropriate materials are provided suited for struggling, on-level and advanced levels of learners. Learner Materials are carefully made and prepared ahead.
