Mughal miniature painting
Mugal painting is a particular style of South Asian, particularly Indian painting confined to miniatures either as book illustrations or as single works to be kept in albums (muraqqa). It emerged from Persian miniature painting (itself partly of Chinese origin) and developed in the court of the Mughal Empire of the 16th to 18th centuries. The Mughal emperors were Muslims and they are credited with consolidating Islam in South Asia, and spreading Muslim (and particularly Persian) arts and culture as well as the faith.[1]
Mughal painting immediately took a much greater interest in realistic portraiture than was typical of Persian miniatures. Animals and plants were the main subject of many miniatures for albums, and were more realistically depicted. Although many classic works of Persian literature continued to be illustrated, as well as Indian works, the taste of the Mughal emperors for writing memoirs or diaries, begun by Babur, provided some of the most lavishly decorated texts, such as the Padshahnama genre of official histories. Subjects are rich in variety and include portraits, events and scenes from court life, wild life and hunting scenes, and illustrations of battles. The Persian tradition of richly decorated borders framing the central image (mostly trimmed in the images shown here) was continued, as was a modified form of the Persian convention of an elevated viewpoint.

The Mughal painting style later spread to other Indian courts, both Muslim and Hindu, and later Sikh, and was often used to depict Hindu subjects. This was mostly in northern India. It developed many regional styles in these courts, tending to become bolder but less refined.

Devi Prasad Roy Chowdhury was an important 20th century sculptor and painter from India. He was born in 1899 in Rangpur and studied art in India and Italy. Roy Chowdhury's style blended Western techniques with Indian themes. He is known for his monumental sculptures and was the first Bengali artist to work in bronze. Roy Chowdhury taught at art schools in Calcutta and Madras for many years and influenced generations of Indian artists. Some of his notable sculptures include The Triumph of Labour in Delhi and Gandhi's Dandi March in Kolkata.

Indian paintings

Mughal miniature painting
Mugal painting is a particular style of South Asian, particularly Indian painting confined to miniatures either as book illustrations or as single works to be kept in albums (muraqqa). It emerged from Persian miniature painting (itself partly of Chinese origin) and developed in the court of the Mughal Empire of the 16th to 18th centuries. The Mughal emperors were Muslims and they are credited with consolidating Islam in South Asia, and spreading Muslim (and particularly Persian) arts and culture as well as the faith.[1]
Mughal painting immediately took a much greater interest in realistic portraiture than was typical of Persian miniatures. Animals and plants were the main subject of many miniatures for albums, and were more realistically depicted. Although many classic works of Persian literature continued to be illustrated, as well as Indian works, the taste of the Mughal emperors for writing memoirs or diaries, begun by Babur, provided some of the most lavishly decorated texts, such as the Padshahnama genre of official histories. Subjects are rich in variety and include portraits, events and scenes from court life, wild life and hunting scenes, and illustrations of battles. The Persian tradition of richly decorated borders framing the central image (mostly trimmed in the images shown here) was continued, as was a modified form of the Persian convention of an elevated viewpoint.

The Mughal painting style later spread to other Indian courts, both Muslim and Hindu, and later Sikh, and was often used to depict Hindu subjects. This was mostly in northern India. It developed many regional styles in these courts, tending to become bolder but less refined.
Indian art
Indian art has a long history, with early influences emerging as far back as 2500 BC during the Harappan period. Major developments include the arrival of Indo-Europeans around 1500 BC bringing new ideas, the conversion to Buddhism around 500 BC introducing new themes, and Alexander the Great's conquests in the 320s BC exposing India to Greek styles. The Guptan period saw the flowering of cave temples like Ajanta and Ellora between the 2nd-6th centuries. The arrival of Islam around 1000 AD brought new influences like iconoclasm and miniature painting styles. Indian art remains deeply influenced by religion and philosophy, and is characterized by spiritual themes and mystical relationships between man and god across diverse media.
The changing world of visual arts
European artists in the 18th century brought new styles of visual art to India under British rule, including techniques like oil painting that enabled realistic depictions. Two popular traditions were picturesque landscape painting that depicted India's scenery for British audiences, and portrait painting of the wealthy and powerful. A third genre called "history painting" dramatized episodes of British imperial history. Meanwhile, local court artists adapted to the new styles while some rulers like Tipu Sultan resisted and promoted traditional miniature painting. In the 19th century, popular art forms like scroll painting emerged in cities and pilgrimage centers. Later artists sought a visual style that was both modern and distinctly Indian.
Folk art
Folk art refers to art created by individuals without formal artistic training that reflects the traditions and social values of their culture. It often serves practical purposes and includes paintings, sculptures, tools, toys, and costumes. For a class project, students will research the folk art of a chosen culture, examine common styles and themes, and create their own painting inspired by that folk art tradition.

Satish Gujral is an Indian artist born in 1925 in Jhelum, Pakistan. He is known for his paintings, sculptures, murals and architecture. Gujral was part of the Progressive Artists' Group in Mumbai and studied art in Lahore, Mumbai, and Mexico. His early works focused on the anguish of partition through pieces like Mourning En Masse. This piece is a radical reinterpretation of French pastoral landscape painting. We have nudes who don’t have a care in the world, an idyllic female world. There are staccato brushstrokes and color straight from the paint tube applied in a rainbow of colors.

Influences of African art can be seen in the exaggeration of the female body, especially in the breasts and buttocks, and in the mask-like face. The extreme position of the body makes it look like the figure is composed of different people. The color is inherently Fauve in that it isn’t descriptive of nature. This is part of the odalisque tradition, but his painting isn’t seductive and erotic because Matisse believed that he was creating a picture, not a woman.

Archer gave a detailed account of the social and ritual context, conventions, sources of variation, and uses of line and colour in the ancient wall-painting tradition in Mithila region of Bihar.

Kandinsky
Wassily Kandinsky was a Russian abstract artist born in 1866. He had a love of music and art from a young age but quit his job as a law professor to become a painter after seeing an opera. He studied at an art academy in Germany where his teachers thought his use of bright colors was too vivid. His early works were colorful landscapes but he created the first abstract watercolor painting in 1910. Kandinsky believed color and line could communicate spiritual and emotional ideas, which is shown in his famous non-representational paintings Composition VII from 1913 and Composition IX from 1936 where he studied shape, color and space.

This document provides an overview of wound healing, its functions, stages, mechanisms, factors affecting it, and complications.
A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

HUSSAIN Full name: Maqbool Fida Husain Born: 17 September 1915, Pandharpur Father’s name: Fida hussain Mother’s name: Zunaib bibi Awards: Padma Shri, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, more Movies: Gaja Gamini, Through the Eyes of a Painter, Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities, Pehla Sitara Died: 9 June 2011, Royal Brompton Hospital, London, United Kingdom o MF Husain one of the India's most gifted artist , was an accomplished painter mostly famous for his paintings on Indian women and also for his habits of getting into controversies. o This multi aspect artist has made significant contributions in other field is also as a director ,photographer and member of Indian parliament etc. o MF Hussain was born in Pandharpur, Madhya Pradesh on September 17, 1915. o His mother died when he was three-year-old . His family moved to Indore where he did his primary education. o His association with painting began at an early age - he learnt the art of calligraphy and practiced the “ KUFIC KHAT "(Kufic is the oldest calligraphic form of the various Arabic scripts) with its geometric forms. o He also learnt to write poetry o At the age of 20, he moved to Mumbai determined to become an artist and joined Sir J.J. School of Arts for one year o In 1937 he started his career painting cinema hoardings for a livelihood o Initially, he had a tough time but as the earnings got better, he visited Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad to paint landscapes.
- 2. o Initially, he had a tough time but as the earnings got better, he visited Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad to paint landscapes. o He also tried his luck in other jobs and the best paid job was at a toy factory e where he designed and built fretwork toys. o In between, in the year 1941, Hussain got married to Fazila and they had two daughters - Raisa and Aqueela and also had three sons- Mustafa a restauranteur, Shamshad and Owais , both as painters themselves. o Hussain's painting " SUNEHRA SANSAR " at 1947 annual exhibition of the Bombay art Society won an award and marked his entry as a known artist. o In 1946, Francis Newton Souzah invited him to join Bombay Progressive Artists Group. o He visited Delhi, where he encountered ancient Mathura sculpture and India's miniature paintings. This was a turning point of his career as an artist as he assimilated ideas from Western and Indian art. o In 1952, he conducted his first solo exhibition in Mumbai. In 1954 he was nominated as an eminent artist by the Lalit Kala akademi , New Delhi and won the National award at the Lalit Kala Akademi's first national exhibition. o M.F. Hussain participated in many international shows which included contemporary Indian art. o The Venice biennales (1953 , 1955) Tokyo Biennale (1959 where he won the Iternationl Biennale Award and there he was invited to exhibit alongside Pablo Picasso. o His work was first shown in the USA at India House, New York, in 1964. He had also had exhibitions of photography and in 1984 in Hanover, he exhibited works on plexiglass o Besides painting, Hussain had also made film " Through the Eyes of a Painter " in 1967 which went on to win the Golden Bear Award Berlin Film Festival. He had made several short films since then o On account of his immense contribution to Indian art, the Govemment of India honoured him with :- ~ The Padmashree in 1966. ~ The Padma Bhushan Award in 1973 . ~ The Padma Vibhushan award in 1989. ~ all prestigious civilian awards. o He was nominated to the upper house of the Indian Parliament, the ' Rajya Sabha 1987, and during his six years term he produced the Sansad portfolio.
- 3. o Hussain made a series of painting on several subjects including the Bitish Raj, on major cities such as "culcutta. Benares. Rome, Beijing, on the Epics Mahabharata and Ramayana, a whole seies on Mother Teresa ,on the major nine religions of the world a series on horses.A big mural of his, portrait of 20th century depicts all the major personalities of arts, science, dance, literature, politics, etc. o Hussain's most interesting paintings of the 90's is the series named after Madhuri Dixit a well Known cine artist in Hindi cinema. o He saw her film ' Hum Apke Hain Kaun ' 67 times and painted a whole series of paintings on her and even directed her in a film " GAJA GAMINI " o Hussain became the talk of the town for his open fascination with Madhuri Dixit. o Subsequently, he made another film" Meenaxi: " A Tale of Three Cities " with Tabu, anothur cine artist. o Once Hussain was arrested and charged with hurting sentiments of people following his controversial nude paintings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. o The court ordered that the artist should have freedom of expression but with a limit of un hurting the Sentiments of the "people. o International famed and highest paid painter in India. Described by Forbes magazine as " THE PICASSO OF INDIA ". o Hussain died on June 9, 2011 London, U.K. o Husain’s legacy is being carried forward by his son Owais Husain, who is an eminent artist in his own right. o The autobiography of M.F.
