Editor's Notes
DRIVER Project
2006-06/2009-12
Based on the DARE network of repositories in the Netherlands
http://web.archive.org/web/20080120074852/http://www.driver-community.eu/
http://www.driver-support.eu/managers.html
IReL-Open project
2007-04/2010-10
http://www.irel-open.ie/moodle/
The IReL-Open metadata working group decided in 2008 that it would be advantageous for metadata standards for the proposed harvester to be DRIVER 2.0 compliant, to enable future interoperability with European infrastructure.
OpenAIRE
Established to support and monitor the implementation of the FP7 OA pilot
DRIVER Guidelines 2.0 merged into OpenAIRE Guidelines
Post FP7, guidelines for exposing EC funded publications and other Open Access publications, regardless of their funding
Also includes guidelines for data archive managers and the OpenAIRE CERIF-XML profile (for CRIS systems)
https://guidelines.openaire.eu/en/latest/literature/introduction.html
Only a few minor differences.
RIAN is more stringent in rejecting non-compliant records, and will give a sense of work needing to be done. The exercise of becoming RIAN compliant is quite similar to that of becoming OpenAIRE compliant.
