Updates on MEOPAR's training program for Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) from our 2017 Annual Training Meeting. Established in 2012 through Canada's federal Networks of Centres of Excellence Program, the Marine Environmental Observation Prediction and Response (MEOPAR) Network is a national network of academic researchers and students, government scientists, and partners in the private, NGO and community sectors working together to reduce vulnerability and strengthen opportunity in Canada's marine environment.

— Develop an online and in-person national network of
trainees
— Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) or MEOPeers
— Provide MEOPeers with diverse, value-added learning
experiences
— Training that is relevant to your education, research projects and careers
— Develop MEOPeers’ marine research knowledge, skills,
and attitudes
— MEOPeers are future leaders in marine research in Canada
— MEOPeer Alumni are employed in academia, government, and the
private sector in Canada and internationally
