I will demonstrate how to use Skitch and Screenr. After each demonstration, the participants will be able to recreate my demo on their own computers using the appropriate program. I will open up the floor for discussion and further questions at the end of the workshop.

Screen-Capturing, Screen-Casting, and Screen Sharing for the Budget Friendly ...
First, we will discuss the differences between screen-capturing, screen casting, and screen sharing.
We will then look at 3 programs that are all free (budget-friendly) that teachers can use in their classrooms. I will discuss how to obtain each free program and show their websites. The programs are as follows:
screen-capturing: Skitch http://skitch.com/ screen casting: Screenr http://www.screenr.com/ screen sharing: join.me https://join.me/
I will demonstrate how to use Skitch and Screenr. After each demonstration, the participants will be able to recreate my demo on their own computers using the appropriate program. Each demo will be short for easy recreation. I will supply individual help when needed. Lastly, I will show how to use Join.Me to share the participant's screen. I will open up the floor for discussion and further questions at the end of the workshop.

3. Instructors should consider that not all students may have internet access or familiarity with online communication when designing computer-based distance learning courses.
MeetMe Conference
BT MeetMe is an online phone conferencing service that allows up to 40 people to join meetings quickly without needing to book in advance. Participants can access meetings from anywhere in the world through an online portal or by phone. The service allows users to share information, brainstorm ideas, and customize conferences. It also offers recording capabilities and password protection for security. Setting up a MeetMe conference is simple - the organizer provides dial-in details and participants call or join online at the scheduled time.
Virtual Classroom
