6. Objectives:
Defining scientific medical and dental
system.

conferment of medical degree and
diploma.
Prohibiting of unauthorized conferment of

8. No one other then RMP shall Use with his
name or address the word DOCTOR or
any of its variations, expressions or
abbreviations so to give an impression that
he is entitled to practice allopathic
medicine.

give impression that he is qualified medical
practitioner.

13. 1. Seeking of employment against job or
permission for independent practice.

14. 1) To notify to the council change of address
on transfer within 30 days.
2) Not using any name, title, description or
abbreviation indicating that he possesses
an additional qualification, like writing
RMP with medical qualification.
15. Offence of misconduct committed by a
RMP
when a written complaint is received by
PMDC
when a medical practitioner is convicted by
a court of law.
After hearing the complaint as well as the
medical practitioner, the council decides
whether any action is necessary.
16. Depending gravity of the offence the action

Erasure of the name from the register either
for temporary period or permanently.
17. Such erasure is known as penal erasure &
when it is permanent, it is known as
professional death sentence. It deprives
the practitioner of all the privileges of a
RMP.
A medical practitioner is entitled to appeal
to the Federal Health Ministry against the
decision of PMDC.
20. Primary objective to prevent misuse of
drugs having potential for abuse.
Abuse of drug means that drug is taken
apart from its medicinal use.
21. 1. An individual may become compelled to
continue taking drugs (craving).
2. Amount needed for the intented initial effect
may have to be increased. (tolerance).
3. Discontinuation of the drug may lead to
complex sequence of symptoms (withdrawal
symptoms)
22. 4. Physical and psychological dependence
may occur.
5. Social deterioration of the personality of
the drug user may occur.
24. Prescribes limitations about the quantity of
the dangerous drugs, which a medical
practitioner may possess for use in his
practice at any one time.
