plays a part in the
film.

2. In the second shot,
the camera focuses
very close to Ferris’
face. This is to
emphasis the strong
look on his face and
to show he is ill. It’s
important for the
audience to know
that he is ill so that
we understand what
happens in the film.
There is a light on his face
so the audience can see it
and all of our attention is
on his face.
The fact that the parents don’t
realise that Ferris is clearly faking it
shows that they are quite gullible
and dumb.

3. The camera is placed
like this so it looks like
it’s from the point of
view of Ferris, as he
looks up at his parents.
The parents are wearing
smart clothing which
suggests they are rich and
successful. This only adds
to the plot because it
means they would want
him to do well at school,
not faking an illness.
There is a lot of light on
their faces so that the
audience focuses on
their facial expressions
and not the
background etc. There
is a very concerned
look on her face.

4. This shot shows the
whole of his room.
This gives the
audience an insight
into what he is like and
therefore what the
film might be like.
There are posters on
the wall which the
young audience would
be able to relate to.
This would be a typical
young persons room
of the time and
implies that it’s a
coming of age film.
Typography: the font of this
dialogue really expresses the
style of the film as it is a very
relaxed and funky style. The
colour suggests the audience is
young.
