How does your media product
represent your specific target
          group?
With so much negative media surrounding
teenagers and young adults lately, my media
product contrasts this and represents young
people in a positive light.
My media product thrives to represent young
Indie social groups of people positively,
highlighting the inspirational things they do
and the amazing things they achieve.
Representations

In the media, teenagers and young people are
regular victims of negative representations. I
designed my magazine in order to show
these people in a different light. With stories
surrounding the musical achievements of
young people and upcoming music events, it
shows the contrasting side to young people of
our generation.

      According to the uses and
      gratifications theory, people
      actively use the media for
      their own personal
      pleasures. As in my sell
      line shown here, this gives
      my readers an active
      reason to buy the
      magazine. Representing
      young people as active.

     Again, in the contents I have
     included information on a
     particular festival. This is also
     representing young people as
     active and outgoing.

            However, in my double page
            spread I believe I have
            represented young people in a
            more negative light. As this is a
            gossip section it represents
            people as less active and less
            social able.
