Looking back at your preliminary
task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to
            full product?

           By Mark Leonard
How good do you think your preliminary task was?

• I think my preliminary task went well. I found it easy to make my magazine
  pages using the programs provided.
• I find it hard to make the evaluation’s. I’m not that good with words.
Had you used the software before this task or was this the first time? How easy or
                             difficult was it to use?

• I had never used the software before, I’d used Photoshop, but
  never InDesign.
• When I used the programs I picked up the techniques very
quickly. The picture on the left was my first magazine that I
made so I could get used to Indesign. The picture on the right
is my finished music magazine. As you can see the magazine
on the right looks more professional then the one on the left.
When you started your main task what did you realise about market and audience
research that you didn’t perhaps focus on as much for your student magazine?

• When I did the student magazine I didn’t do much research
  about the my target audience.
• Although when I did the music magazine I researched my
audience, I didn’t get as much research as I could have, but it
was still enough to create a viable magazine.
How did you make use of time effectively?

• I believe I had enough time to make my magazine, the college
had after hour lessons which I attended to catch up on any
work, I also used my free time at home and around college to
  do any work.
How did you develop skills to produce the article?

• I believe I developed all of my skills to make this magazine.
• In Photoshop I learned to use the burn tool and the stamp
  tool.
• I can’t really say how my InDesign skills have improved when
  haven‘t use the program before.
• I believe I improved my writing skills from an article writing
  view.
How much more important was house style for your final piece?

• I think having a house style was a good addition because it
gave more order to the magazine and the other pages.
• With the house style I was able to give a greater sense of
  order.
