1. The Woman in Black
The Woman in Black is about a lawyer named Arthur who has recently lost his
wife to childbirth.
Arthur then is sent to the village to put a deceased eccentric affairs in order.
Conventional: They had elements of horror when they changed the camera
from one scene to another to get a jump scare.
This is used to give an audience a fright and make them jump out of their sit.
They also used tracking. Tracking is used to follow the character from behind.
Another conventional was close up.
Close up are used to
show the emotions on
the characters.
Unconventional: Only one man dies, in the
movie, he is the main character the other
people that die are kids.
Another unconventional part in the film is at
the end Arthur and his kid reunite with the
mum and have a happy ending.
Unconventional: They didn't use any blood. Blood symbolise in media as
death they kept the movie clean and had other elements to show it is a gory
film and supernatural beings.
