The $38.3 million Mining and Engineering Centre will be built at TAFE SA's Regency Campus to provide vocational training in geo science, heavy vehicle transport, mechanical and civil engineering, and automotive. The new center will support growth in mining, engineering, manufacturing, transport and defense industries. It will be completed by July 2014 in three phases, and will include workshops, laboratories, and a student learning and administration hub to support flexible training delivery methods.

The Mining and Engineering Centre will be a centre for training excellence to support
growth in the mining, engineering, advanced manufacturing, transport and defence
industries.
New features include
• Applied Research Facility
• Industry Demonstration and Engagement Facility
• Student centred learning common and administration hub
• Flexible training methods including on-the-job, e-learning and on campus delivery

5. Development
The centre will completed by July 2014.
Development will occur over three phases
Phase 1
• Construction of an additional car park
• Rebuilding of the Mechanical, Advanced Manufacturing and
Fabrication Engineering School workshop and lecture areas
• Part development of student centred learning common and
administration hub

Phase 2
• Construction of the Land Information and Management
Systems and Geoscience workshops and laboratory
• New building construction for the Heavy Vehicle areas
• Part redevelopment of the Light Vehicle area
Phase 3
• Completion of the light vehicle workshops and lecture
facilities including integration with heavy vehicle facilities
• Completion of a student centred learning common and
administration hub with new student entry points to the
Centre
