The document discusses expansion plans at Perth International Airport. It describes how the airport is the 4th busiest in Australia and passenger numbers have tripled in 10 years. It outlines two major expansion projects - a $80 million expansion to the international arrivals area scheduled to be completed in 2014, and a $380 million expansion to the international terminal and addition of an international pier scheduled for completion in 2014. The projects aim to increase capacity and improve customer facilities to accommodate further passenger growth projected to reach 24 million annually by 2019.
Tropical architecture designs buildings to achieve thermal comfort in hot, humid climates. Key strategies include using sun shading, orienting buildings, and maximizing ventilation. Sun shading reduces solar radiation through devices like overhangs, shutters, and trees. Proper orientation avoids east and west exposures and opens windows to prevailing winds. Maximizing ventilation uses techniques like cross ventilation, stack ventilation, and high ceilings to improve indoor air quality. The choice of lightweight, insulating materials also helps regulate a building's interior temperature.
The document provides details about the Capital Gate building project in Abu Dhabi. It describes the building as having a record lean of 18 degrees and being 160 meters tall. Unconventional construction methods were used, including pre-cambering and post-tensioning of the core and custom steel diagrids. The building achieved several awards and set new benchmarks in civil engineering.
The document discusses how an engineering lab services department at E-Z-GO Textron implemented Six Sigma to improve processes and renovate their workspace. Lee Lawrence, who had Six Sigma Black Belt certification, led a renovation project using Six Sigma methods like 5S. The project involved deconstructing and renovating lab spaces, updating lighting, flooring, and equipment over three phases. Before photos show outdated lab areas, and after photos show improved, organized work spaces following Six Sigma principles. The renovation helped transform the department into a more efficient, "world class" operation aligned with the company's quality and customer satisfaction goals.
This document discusses an engineering services company's safety program and global operations. It outlines the company's initiatives to reduce accidents, including regular training, audits, and safety measures. Charts show declining accident rates over time. The company has received numerous safety awards from customers in recognition of its strong safety record. Globally, it has nearly 20,000 employees and a presence in 14 countries across North America, South America, Asia, and Europe.

Temple of Asclepius in Thrace. Excavation resultsKrassimira Luka
The temple and the sanctuary around were dedicated to Asklepios Zmidrenus. This name has been known since 1875 when an inscription dedicated to him was discovered in Rome. The inscription is dated in 227 AD and was left by soldiers originating from the city of Philippopolis (modern Plovdiv).
This document provides an overview of wound healing, its functions, stages, mechanisms, factors affecting it, and complications.
A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

2. New Transport and Engineering Technology
Centre for Wetherill Park TAFE
The 19th June 2013, the state
government announced the approval
for funding which would allow the
construction of the Transport and
Engineering Technology Centre at
Wetherill Park TAFE
“The project will shift in delivery to
simulation, technology based training and
industry projects. Simulation technology
will be implemented across the areas of
engines and transmissions, fuel systems,
electronics, fluid power and driving
simulation for heavy vehicles. Expansion of
E-learning and the roll out of the National
Broadband Network will allow SWSI to
facilitate direct learning in the work place.
This will allow the student to learn on the
job via remote technology. It will also
provide an industry training hub for the
sector to advance the industry on a global
front.”
