Let’s Review!
Evaluate the following expressions. Use the rules for
the order of operations to find the value of N.
• 5 x 7 +120
• 15 ÷ 5 + 20
• 76- 8 x 9
• 9 x 5 + 50
• 60 + 45 - 10
• Let’s study!
James Yap earned 18
points in the first quarter of
their games. What are the
factors of 18?
How do you determine the number of factors of a given number?
18
Here’s how you do it:
Think of each number as a product of 2 factors.
Factors are numbers multiplied to get a product.
Write the number as a product of 2 factors.
List down the factors of that number

•Factors – are
the numbers
that we multiply
to get a product
Next, What are the multiples of 18?
1x 18= 18
2 x 18= 36
3 x 18= 54
4 x 18= 72
5 x 18= 90
6 x 18= 108
7 x 18= 126
8 x 18= 144
9 x 18= 162
10 x 18= 180
18,36,54,72,90,108,126,144,162,180 are multiples of 18
•Multiples – are
the numbers can
be obtained by
multiplying it by
any counting
number.
Let’s Try!
What are the
multiples of 7?
The products of 7 multiplied by the
set of counting numbers are 7, 14,
21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, and 70.
These products are called multiples.
The set of multiples of 7 has no end.
Let’s Answer!
List down the first 5 multiples of
each number.

Let’s Study!
How do you determine the number of factors of a given number? 17
11 40 18
Here’s how you do it:
Think of each number as a product of 2 factors.
Factors are numbers multiplied to get a product.
Write the number as a product of 2 factors.
List down the factors of that number. Study the table
Notice that 17 and 11 have 2 factors each. The factors of 17 are 1
and 17. 17 can be divided exactly by itself and 1.The factors of 11 are
1 and 11. 11 can be divided by itself and 1.
A number greater than 1 which can be divided exactly by 1 and itself
is a prime number. 17 and 11 are examples of prime numbers.
Notice that 40 and 18 have more than 2 possible factors each.
The list of possible factors of 40 includes 1, 2, 4, 5, …. The list
of possible factors of 18 includes 1, 2, 3, ….
A number with more than two factors is a composite number.
40 and 18 are examples of composite numbers.
• Prime number – is a number that has exactly
two factors. 1 and itself.
• Composite number – is a number that has more
than two possible factors.
Let’s Try!
Write and fill up the table with the correct answer.
