Finding the right Chinese business partners for Dutch
companies is not easy and takes a lot of time and
effort.
The Dutch Consulate General in Guangzhou aims to
enhance the relations between Dutch and Chinese
citizens and organizations, and has a broad expertise
on any sector or industry in South-China; the
provinces of Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi and Hainan.
The consulate can help to screen, identify and meet
prospective partners, distributors and counterparts
for companies in the Netherlands that want to
expand their business to South-China.
3. What is matchmaking?
Matchmaking is looking for suitable
Chinese counterparts for Dutch companies
that go on a trade mission to China, and
organizing meetings between these two
parties in order to match them.
Experienced commercial officers with great
knowledge of the top sectors will be
responsible for the matchmaking process.

• Exchanging information involving companies that need
matchmaking*
• CG will send an intake form to the Dutch companies. This
intake form consists of questions regarding:
• Company profile
• Company products and services
• Program related topics
*Matchmaking requests should be submitted 4-6 weeks prior to the delegation visit, in order to have enough time for identifying,
screening and meeting the counterparts
7. Partner identification
According to the information
exchanged CG will:
• Identify potential counterparts
• Take care of detailed company
information
• Share market opportunities
After that a list of potential Chinese
companies will be sent to the Dutch
companies
8. Pre-visit
• The consulate will visit the
most potential business
partners on site
• …And report to the Dutch
companies
• If necessary the consulate will
look for more counterparts
9. Final preparations
In the final preparation phase the
consulate will arrange:
• A meeting schedule with pre-
screened counterparts
• Transport to the Chinese companies
or hotel
• An interpreter (upon request)
The consulate will send the individual
matchmaking programs and forms of
agreement to the Dutch companies

o On average maximum 2-3 company visits
per day per Dutch company
Hotel meetings
Both Dutch and Chinese companies
will meet in a hotel
o On average maximum 4-5 meetings per
day per Dutch company
11. All costs for transport from and to hotel (including
pre-visits), hotel, interpreter etc. are expected to be
paid by the Dutch company on site.
The consulate will provide the partner searches and
arrange the meetings.
