Siyavula provides open educational resources (OERs) including free high school science textbooks. The Department of Basic Education will print and distribute over 2.5 million of Siyavula's textbooks nationally to all learners taking mathematics and physical science. Siyavula retains the rights as a private company while providing curriculum-aligned, collaboratively authored, and openly licensed materials for all learners. Siyavula sees opportunities for expansion through increased pricing, new services and titles, and additional English markets in countries with high mobile penetration rates such as Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana.
