Marketing based on facts, not fantasies, is important for business success. Some key marketing facts are that 39% of B2B companies using Twitter and 41% using Facebook have acquired customers from those channels, blogs that are updated at least 20 times per month generate 5 times as much traffic and 4 times as many leads as blogs updated less often, and email usage is declining by up to 59% across all age groups. Marketers need to separate facts from fantasies to effectively reach customers.
Here's the hard truth about marketing: your customers are better at it than you. Over the past decade, marketers perfected content creation, but as a result, things got a lot more competitive for businesses and a lot more crowded for buyers. So while creating content is still your best and cheapest strategy, it should no longer be your only strategy. That's where your customers come in. Learn more.

In my continued efforts to bring the most value to the entrepreneurs, operators, and marketers of the world, today on my 44th birthday, I’m releasing a deck that the team and I have worked on extensively over a couple of months.
We did it to inspire and, more importantly, to create the tactics and details around how you, your organization, your startup, or your Fortune 500 company can push the envelope to create more content than you ever thought possible. In a volume-centric creative world, it’s about creating more context for the audience you’re trying to reach and more context on the platforms that you’re distributing on.
I hope you find this new deck massively valuable, and I’m extremely proud that it’s free.
Please enjoy and share this with entrepreneurs, executives, and your friends – I genuinely believe this deck will help so many.

Welcome to the B2C Content Marketing Benchmarks, Budgets, and Trends: Insights for 2022 report. This report looks back on the last 12 months and includes expectations for 2022.
Our research suggested that, due to work-from-home requirements, content marketing piqued the interest of many who were previously unaware of its power. With more people than ever spending time online, content marketing presented a prime opportunity for businesses to get and stay in front of audiences. Some B2C marketers discovered new audiences altogether.
Short articles and videos were big over the last 12 months with the B2C marketers we surveyed. In addition, expect a lot of B2C investment in video in 2022: 72% forecast investment in this area. Paid media came in a distant second.
Although most B2C marketers reported success with content marketing in the last 12 months, there are still challenges. Respondents said their top two content marketing challenges were creating content that appeals to multi-level roles within the target audience (42%) and internal communication between teams/silos (41%).
If B2C marketers can overcome these challenges, they’ll improve their odds of achieving greater content marketing success in 2022.

Dispatches From The New Economy: The Five Faces Of The On-Demand EconomyIntuit Inc.
From people determined to be their own boss, to those embracing the flexibility to do something they love, to workers finding a replacement for a traditional job – people working in the on-demand economy are just about as diverse as the labor market itself. A new report from Intuit Inc. and Emergent Research shows that there are a broad range of motivations – and differing levels of satisfaction – among five distinct groups of on-demand workers:
The Business Builders – primarily driven by the desire to be their own boss. They represent 22 percent of on-demand workers.
The Career Freelancers – happily building a career through independent work. They represent 20 percent of on-demand workers.
The Side Giggers – looking to find financial stability by supplementing existing income. They represent 26 percent of on-demand workers.
The Passionistas – looking for the flexibility to do something they love. They represent 18 percent of on-demand workers.
The Substituters – replacing a traditional job that is no longer available. They represent 14 percent of on-demand workers.
Methodology
A total of 4,622 workers who find work opportunities via the platforms provided by the participating partner companies completed an online survey between September 11 and October 1, 2015. The results were weighted to reflect the proportion of workers in each of the following segments: Drivers/Delivery, Online Talent Marketplaces and Field Service/Onsite Talent. The weights were developed using earlier survey work that sized the on-demand economy. The largest weighted share of on-demand worker respondents from any single company is 16%, with most partner companies providing less than 10% of the respondents.

This year, the team at Activate has defined the 9 most important insights for tech and media in 2017. Key points:
*Super-serve the super-users and chase the attention unicorns
*Subscriptions will feed the world (or at least internet and media businesses)
*Learn to live with the discovery oligopoly
*The bot battles are about winning the great messaging war
*eSports is the next tech phenomenon
*You already know the new winners in Pay TV
*Video Streaming: The bundle is the future
*Audio: Smart Speakers, Gray Music
*Post-Household America: A new era of users
New Era. New Opportunities.
Devastating in so many ways, it cannot be denied that the pandemic has also been deeply transformative, accelerating new ways of living, working and thinking across almost every layer of our lives. Social is no exception.
At Punch, we’ve seen explosive growth in areas like intimate live social events, tutorials, workshops and shoppable content, as brands seek to add value to their customers’ lives and form deeper, longer-lasting connections with their followers.
Where the past decade has seen us confronting the more challenging aspects of social, things like data privacy, mental health and politics, 2021 has given us plenty of exciting signals that point towards a new era of social that starts right now – Web 3.0. With new opportunities coming at brands left, right and centre, we’re about to see a deep shift, with creators and innovators taking the reins and decentralising the power held by the big blue platforms since the mid-noughties.
In this report, we naturally discuss the emerging vision of the metaverse. The metaverse represents huge opportunity for brands; for some, early adoption might prove to be a key strategic investment. But the metaverse isn’t what excites us at the moment (sorry Zuck). With revolution in the air, we want to know what the underdogs are doing: the tech dreamers, the NFT kids, the creators. As creators become more and more valued for the central role they play in making social a fun place to be, we are already seeing examples of individuals breaking away and building their own niche communities. Whether they start to take large swathes of the larger platforms’ audiences with them remains to be seen. What can brands learn from their thinking – and how can we forge better and more creative partnerships? This is the big question of 2022.
Certain trends from last year, notably s-commerce and live video, are back for another year. The challenge with video is how to leverage new tools and techniques to create video content at scale in fresh, creative and authentic ways. We’re also starting to see audiences being actively rewarded for their loyalty and engagement, with highly-creative community managers and efficient and proactive customer service teams. Web 3.0 is unfolding; a bolder, fairer and more democratic digital playground where creativity and loyalty trump all. As user numbers grow and platforms and audiences mature further, budgets are likely to shift towards a combination of acquisition AND driving loyalty and retention.
“Community” is our key buzzword for 2022. Whether you’re getting in on the ground floor of branded NFT “moments”, exploring the hotter- and-hotter world of gaming, or investing more in cinematic video, success will depend on centring your community, acting thoughtfully and, as always, creating difference with mind blowing content and standout campaigns.

Viral videos don't just happen. They require luck and serious data science research. Here are 5 proven complete strategies to use data to determine what viral video content will have the best chance of catching fire. These marketing strategies can be used for video, content marketing, social media marketing and SEO. They are from a presentation that I did at Digital Marketer's Traffic & Conversion Summit.
Despite the debates around privacy, disinformation and influencer authenticity; social media continues to fuel our digital lives. The biggest change is how. With ever evolving platforms, trends, and even content types, social is growing increasingly complex and discerning fact from fiction is becoming progressively more difficult. What will be the biggest trends for marketers in 2020? Chris Walts, Social Strategy Lead at Ogilvy UK, and Kanika Bali, Social Strategist at Ogilvy Hong Kong share their insights.

Your Go-To-Market is Killing Your Business, and You Don't Even Know ItHubSpot
Modern customers expect that it will be easy to learn about your product and buy it, but most of our go-to-markets do the opposite. We ask people to fill out long forms, we build complex qualification rules, we make it tough for prospects to talk to someone right now. In short, we put up barriers that solve for our companies instead of solving for our customers.
At HubSpot, we’re mid-way through transforming our go-to-market to be customer centric. Learn what’s worked for us, what hasn’t, and what we’re building.

According to a recent report from Ernst & Young GmbH, both the number of funding rounds for startups in Germany and the overall value of those rounds hit record levels in the first six months of 2017. That tracks with what we’ve found in HubSpot research as well. We recently commissioned a survey of consumers living and/or working in the Berlin metro area, and found that the tech scene there is evolving quickly – 95 percent of Berliners see the number of technology jobs in the city growing, and 90 percent say Berlin also offers access to the technology and digital talent needed to grow a tech company. With Berlin offering the highest post-grad monthly salary for the European tech sector (3,112 euros per month, on average), it’s no surprise that the city has become a hub for fast-growing tech companies. And as of today, HubSpot is the latest to call the city home.

Modern Prospecting Techniques for Connecting with Prospects (from Sales Hacke...HubSpot
Sales is a difficult world to be in because buyers aren't putting up with salespeople anymore. Instead of helping and building relationships, sales reps are still focused on closing prospects - even when they aren't ready to buy! So buyers ignore them. Because of that, even great sales reps would be lucky to get on the phone with someone.
While buyers have evolved and become more sophisticated, sales reps and training programs have been slow to adapt to that change.
Learn actionable modern prospecting techniques you can apply immediately from two best selling authors and sales experts: Max Altschuler CEO of Sales Hacker, and Mark Roberge CRO of HubSpot.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.
