3. introduction
What is light?
Light is electromagnetic radiation
within a certain portion of the
electromagnetic spectrum. The word
usually refers to visible light, which is
visible to the human eye
4. Activity 1:light and there spectra
Making a spectroscope to see the light spectrum
How to make a spectroscope
Cut the CD to 1 circle of the size1.
of the toilet paper roll diameter.
2 .Cut the black paper to 2
circles
of the size of the toilet
paper roll diameter.3.Cut a narrow line in the
middle of one of the black
circles.4. Cut a wide line in the middle
of one of the black circles.
5.Tape the CD circle to
one of the side
of the toilet paper roll
and 1 of the black circle
on the other side
6. Activity 2: Diffraction
To observe diffraction
simulationsWe set up a ripple tank filled half way with
water with two bobbers to create
interfering waves in water.
We used water as an example of a light to
see the waves.
The water moved from one side of the
ripple tank and created water waves, they
bend as they pass by obstacles or through
an opening. As the width of the split
between the bobbers gets smaller in size ,
the wave appears more clearly and
sharply.
We observed that water travels in waves.
7. Activity 3: Observing interference
To observe interference pattern.
How To make interference transparent
Wave generator : we used a
motor and a thread to see the
waves
Making interference transparent : we had a
transparent paper with 2 circles, we places
them over each other and we saw the
waves.
8. Design Project : Fabricating phonetic
crystals
*To create phonetic crystals
Producer-In this activity we used a slip and we put on two
different polystyrene drops and heated it.
Results –the polystyrene drops changed to pink and green
crystals. The difference in colors is due to the size of the
nanoparticles.
10. The Deaf Light Pen
objectives
2.
New way to
communicate with the
deaf
Invent a new
language for people
to communicate
easily with deaf
people, and to
understand their
needs in any place
they exist in.
Accordingly, we
don’t have to learn
sign language to
communicate with
them
1.
12. The Deaf Light Pen
We recommend that our product can be Applied in
restaurants
We advice more investigation for improvement of
the product
Recommendations & Conclusions:
13. The Deaf Light Pen
Our product designed :
To help people to communicate with the
deaf
Recommendations & Conclusions:
It is highly recommended to spread out this
product everywhere, in shopping malls,
schools, hospitals….etc.
This will help normal people communicate
with people that only use sign language
