TAPCO has power production of 2000MW and water production of 160MIGD.
TAPCO has three power plants projects (Initial B, Initial B Extension and New extension B).
1. The Initial B Plant consists of six Babcock steam generators of (each 650t/h) in line with six
steam turbines (ABB type DKE 2-1063 of each 146MW) as well as six Fisia multi stage flash
desalination units (each12.5MIGM capacity).
2. The Initial B Extension consists of two GE frame MS 9001E gas turbines (each 97 MW) with
Heat Recovery Steam Generators (420t/h) connected to one back pressure steam turbine
(143MW) and three Multi-stage Flash (MSF) distillers (each 7.7MIGD).

3. 3. The Initial B new Extension B consists of three Siemens frame STG 4500F (Each 237MW)
with Heat Recovery Steam Generator connected to one back pressure steam turbine (300MW)
and four Multi-stage Flash (MSF) distillers (each 16.8 MIGD).

 Maintain the water chemistry of Power and desalination units.
 Maintain the process of Water Treatment Plant (Cation, Anion and Mixed Bed ion Exchangers)
operated trouble free and produce dematerialized water to meet the requirement of the station.
 Regenerating Water treatment plant Ion Exchange Resins (Anion, Cation & Mixed Bed)
 Regulate and monitor boiler water quality of feed water, blow down and steam samples of boilers at
frequent intervals of time.
