Total Organisational Operations: As a Head, my job role here was total Organisational Operations. TARA being a self-
sustaining NGO, its operations are carried out totally as per norms of a corporate organisation with emphasis on Profit being the
Bottom-line.
a. Business Development & new market launches - consisting of market demand driven R & D, innovating relevant
technologies using alternate materials, formulating strategies for Marketing by way of Direct & Channel Sales, Govt.
accounts, breaking into new arenas with Product Launches after discerning the target audience by way of conducting
research as Baseline Studies & providing after sales services – AMCs etc.
Key Achievements: Organisational Turnaround: Turned TARA: a self sustaining NGO, Development Alternatives, into
a profit making entity after 22 years of being a loss making business proposition.
b. Fund raising & implementation of Multisite Projects undertaken on PPP model: Partnered with government &
private sector for disaster management & multisite livelihood generation projects.

Corporate, Government bodies & local NGO partners, Centres for Alternative Sustainable Livelihoods for afflicted fishing
Women communities in the field of handmade paper handicrafts, alternate building materials, & handlooms. These
centres started off with Training & Capacity building of the communities; helping them form SHGs & federations, procure
bank loans, setting up local Marketing Linkages, & handholding support for better sustainability.
 Sahariya Tribal Women cluster developed in Bundelkhand in recycled handmade paper & handicrafts, sponsored by
Ministry of Handicrafts.
 Jharkhand Government :Developed handloom weaving clusters in remote locations of the state.
 NABARD: Developed clusters in Fly ash machines & fly ash brick making in Maharashtra.
 BITS Pilani: Setting up Recycled Handmade paper & handicrafts unit for sustainable livelihoods for rural women from
marginalised communities.
 BRO: Alliance built with BRO (Border Road Organisation) to use alternate building material machines in remote locations
to make housing more affordable for contractual labour.
 NCT Govt. New Delhi : Setting up fully sponsored Recycling paper plant in Chief Minister office and in schools as
educational communities to spread environmental awareness.
 Swiss Red Cross in Srilanka for Tsunami afflicted communities’ rehabilitation in housing & alternate sustainable
livelihoods.
 Indian High Commission Srilanka – Handlooms for setting up sustainable livelihoods for Tsunami afflicted.
 Holcim Cement Worldwide, Indonesia – Building & Roofing Enterprises for Tsunami afflicted communities as alternate
sustainable livelihoods & rehabilitation.
 Nagapatinam Tsunami afflicted communities rehabilitation – Successfully set up training centres, built SHG groups in
weaving, building materials, & paper products with due handholding, leading to sustainability of the enterprises set up.
Project funded by government ,corporate & individual donors.
 Srilanka Textile Ministry – Setting up Handlooms units in formulating livelihood packages for enabling larger numbers of
employment opportunities for poor and marginalised communities.
 UNICEF – Set up Enterprises in rural locations in alternate building material MCR at Hyderabad.
 World Bank – Successfully expanded and popularised the alternate/ green brick making technology, VSBK, along with
Carbon Saving Community Fund CDCF of World Bank in backward states.
 Camroon, Africa – Introducing alternate roofing technology – Micro concrete roofing systems as new business line for
livelihoods of the marginalised and poor communities.
 Leap Frog International Fund for Entrepreneurship – Awarded the fund worth Rs. 92 lacs to set up small scale
enterprises with TARA technologies in Srilanka.
 c. Alliance Building, Networking, Equity Building/ Impact/ Branding: Successfully established TARA as one of the
leading iconic brands. On Fair Trade Committee, India from 2007 to 2008.

established TARA in CRM.

 Headed Classified Femina – Fillmfare Cell : successfully launched and sustained the category, overshot annual budget
of 1 crore by 43 %.
 Headed Customer Service Cell: increased customer loyalty and retention by providing timely and relevant services,
augmenting organizational credibility & customer loyalty.
