Better Living Centre provides incubation and acceleration support to entrepreneurs in rural India. It helps turn ideas into businesses focused on areas like renewable energy, agriculture, healthcare and affordable technology. The Centre supports entrepreneurs through funding, mentoring, office space and networking opportunities to promote disruptive change in rural economies. BETTER LIVING COMMUNE is a Centre for Innovation
Incubation and Entrepreneurship helps
entrepreneurs turn ideas into viable businesses. In
partnership with our mentors, corporates,
development agencies and investors, we cultivate a
rare breed of entrepreneurs by incubating,
accelerating, mentoring and funding innovative
enterprises in Green initiatives, Rural Health
Improvement programs, Agro based product
development and renewable and sustainable energy
based electronic consumer products. We believe that

We believe creating a conducive ecosystem is critical
to promoting entrepreneurship in Rural India. Over a
short period, we brought together individuals,
corporates, foundations & CSRs, multilateral
agencies, Government and academia to build
interventions to support entrepreneurship in Kerala.
We believe that Government and developmental
capital has a critical role to play in areas where there
are market failures and private capital is hard to find.
We work closely with the Government and
multilateral agencies to design and implement
interventions for these underserved sectors and
areas. Our initiatives have been able to leverage
significant external capital into these areas by
mitigating the perceived risk of the private sector.
THE PEOPLE
Our team of over 15 people across Kerala, Bengaluru
and over 50 mentors countrywide enable us to work
closely with our entrepreneurs. Our team comprises
of sectoral experts across areas like solar energy,
cleantech and agriculture, furniture, natural fibre as
well as functional experts in areas like design,
industrial production, branding, marketing and skill
development. Our team typically gets actively
involved with our entrepreneurs – helping them on
strategic and operational decisions, hiring, fund-
raising among others.
WE HELP YOU START AND GROW
Through our coming collaborative incubation centres
in Kochi and Pollachi, we can provide a conducive
environment for fledgling ventures to kick-start. We
are the front runners of accelerators in Kerala and
today our engagement with most entrepreneurs
usually starts with an accelerator program –
providing entrepreneurs with access to networks,
mentoring and funding. We are in process of having
seed-fund over a 10 ideas through equity, debt and
prototyping grants and run a dedicated venture fund
for sustainability-focused start-ups in Agro,
Renewable Energy, Rural Health, Natural Fibers and
Ethnic Furniture.
Our team provides customized capacity building
interventions and helps facilitate intelligent,
accelerated growth for innovative projects. Our
engagements have been with corporate
organizations, entrepreneurs, civil society
organizations, international funding agencies and
government agencies involved in enhancing high-
impact ideas.
We leverage a core team and a rich panel of
advisors, mentors and practitioners within the
context of strategic assignments across INDIA.
Our operations include three core areas of strength:
Consulting, Innovation Facilitation and Research &
Knowledge Development. They work together as
integral components in building insights and
perspectives for implementing sustainable
innovations.
Our objectives often extend beyond the project and
engagement – building a pool of knowledge available
to the sector on an ongoing basis. Our acceleration
program and our open knowledge sessions are
specifically working towards these objectives. We

Our events are a great way of meeting like-minded
entrepreneurs, mentors, investors and other subject-
matter experts. Our events and workshops help
aspiring entrepreneurs learn from and network with
other aspiring entrepreneurs, mentors, investors and
other stakeholders. We design and organize design
awards, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, training
sessions, sectoral boot camps and talks to inspire
entrepreneurs and other entrepreneurship
stakeholders across India.

LIVELIHOOD INCUBATION FACILITIES
Empowerment through relevant skill development
training is the driving force of continual employment
and consecutive economic growth. We facilitate skill
development for youth, women, and communities
through our Incubation centers and Skill
Development Programs in a wide range of
occupational fields. Their dynamic training modules
ensure skilled workers are able to adjust their
learning to suit evolving demands of market. In this
way, our graduating work force will always be
employed.
