Makerhub Ukraine promotes the maker movement in Ukraine by organizing Maker Faires across the country that bring together local maker communities. They provide educational resources and consultations to help makers develop new skills. Makerhub advocates for the democratization of innovation and empowering individuals to learn skills and openly share ideas. Their goal is to establish sustainable makerspaces and fab labs that facilitate connections between makers, education, business and economic development.

What is making and why its
important?
 Throughout the world, individuals calling themselves “makers”
learn together, educate others, and openly share their
innovative ideas so that others can build upon their innovations.
This leads to rapid improvements in tools such as 3D printers,
the design of new products across all categories, and
contributes in the creation of new businesses and jobs
 Today’s makers give out knowledge, skills, and tools to anyone
willing to take ownership of their own future – democratizing
innovation in the same way as that of the printing press,
personal computing, and the proliferation of the internet did in
previous innovation cycles

 Maker Faires – family friendly gatherings of makers of
all types and skills. Our task in every region is to find
the special local makers and to help them to discover
new opportunities, technologies and markets

Urban Makerspaces, Maker City
Concept
 To facilitate development of the movement we are working on
creating an open Maker Space in Kyiv that will become a
showroom and learning center for all who wants to implement
maker technologies in education or business
 Our tasks are
 to improve the emerging connection between Makers, city
government and economic development
 to reinvent municipal libraries, industrial buildings and other spaces
 to give new motivation, meaning and instruments to city initiative
that have ideas but don’t know how to implement the material part
