2. TATA BLUESCOPE STEEL LTD is a joint venture company of Tata Steel and Blue Scope Steel
(Australia) with its central plant at Pune. It is in the manufacturing of Pre Engineered Steel Buildings.
It fabricates Beams, Columns, and Rafters for Industrial Buildings. The annual Turnover of the
company is 800 Cr.
Job Responsibilities
 Maintenance engineers work with other professionals in order to improve production facilities, reduce the
incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant,
personnel and production processes. Taking tool box meeting for safety, quality ,environment,
 Interaction with other Departments like, operation, Purchase, Design and detailing, quality and
Construction, vendor development for overall improvement & to achieve target.
 Handling of (SAP application ) to fill the daily, material requisition ,service P.R vendor development
 Adept at controlling production activity on the shop floor, solve production related problems and guiding
 Follow up of daily check list ,preventive maintenance schedule, predictive maintenance schedule, break down

Achievements:
 Full penetration weld at Flange splicing line machine. The maximum thickness penetration achieved up to
12mm.There is benefit in manual welding section & less defect for FY 2015 -16.
 Plastic cap on rod to avoid the thread damages/sleep. There is reduced in site complaint & currently the defect
minimize to Zero level.
 Co2 Gas flow meter on FCAW welding machine & monitoring on weekly basis.
 Reduction of holes related site claim by introducing the systematic approach to the verification & clearance for
the further process. Benefit observed on rework & reduced site complaints.
 Welding flux saving by using the used flux for flange splicing line.
 Revamping of shot blasting machine, improve overall efficiency, achieve surface finish SA 2.5

Site piping for walking hearth furnance (dia 2 in. to 36 in) fabrication, inspection, NDT, loop
clearance, hydro tests, etc.
Responsibilities included fabrication of piping (dia 30”-36”) & supports, hot tapping (24 in.) installation
and commissioning of pumps, gas coolers, etc. NDT check of piping, mechanical clearance of loops, joint history
records, final documentation, etc
