Situation
A major financial services company
needed to complete a critical project
without the use of an internal IT team.
Due to technical limitations on the
client side and delays in the release of
development funds, several additional
projects were approved late in the year
with an end of the year delivery deadline.
Adding to the predicament, each project
was owned by a separate business unit.
Needing a technology partner that could
adjust to any many potential roadblocks
and complete the backlog of projects on
time, the client came to Magenic.
Solution
Working largely with the client’s marketing
team and other non-IT teams, Magenic
was able to complete the projects funded
by different departments, in parallel.
These projects had different budget
requirements, timelines, contracts, project
sponsors, and technologies.
To satisfy the customers’ needs and
aggressive delivery dates, Magenic utilized
a distributed workforce offering of onsite,
onshore, and offshore resources. During the
course of the year, Magenic varied the size of
the overall team from a couple of consultants
to over a dozen consultants in order to
accelerate the development efforts. In
order to maintain flexibility and consistency,
Magenic positioned key personnel to oversee
all project development.
CASE STUDY
Overcoming project barriers to rollout multiple
applications for a Financial Investment Firm
APPLYING FLEXIBILITY
ACROSS SEPARATE
BUSINESS UNITS
////////////////////////////////////////
Results
The flexibility provided by Magenic
proved to be a valuable advantage
for the client that was lacking the
ability to properly complete the
projects. Several potential barriers –
separate business units, non-IT
client teams, varying operation
procedures – meant completing
the projects seemed unreachable.
Magenic was able to ramp new
teams up quickly, add needed skill
sets to existing teams, ramp down,
and execute knowledge transfers
multiple times throughout the year.
Not only did Magenic successfully
deliver on each project on time and
budget, but the results surpassed
the client’s expectations.
