2. Initial Ideas Plan
• The graphic elements that will be included in my magazine will be a main image, masthead, cover line, colour scheme,
dateline, barcode, main strapline's and puffs.
• The name of my magazine will be Brain Escape, this will cover the latest worldwide and peoples thoughts whilst being in
these unprecedented times.
• The main feature of my magazine will be about coronavirus outbreak how it all began and how it rapidly became the
pandemic of the world.
• Other features that will be included will be the most common age that this virus is targeting, what countries have been
affected the most and how many people have recovered from the coronavirus. The other contents will be about the new
hospital that has been launched this in London that is called the Nightingale hospital.
• My main image will be an outline of a brain and within will be an image of coronavirus around the virus there will be
things that people are constantly thinking about. This will be eye catchy and will grab the attention of the reader.
• The genre of my magazine is current affairs where peoples lives and health's are at a great risk. Codes of magazine are
very important they represent things at a symbolic level an example of this would be colour or fonts such as sans serif.
These fonts are very important as they are they are the first impressions of a magazine they will connotate certain type of
look. Another convention would be a barcode which will be placed at the bottom of the magazine.
3. Primary Target Audience:
• For this magazine it will be aimed at the socio-economic class of C1 and B those who have
high end paid jobs that could afford this magazine and those intrested in the society. This
magazine will be aimed at the succeeds and aspires. It will target an older adult audience
as it will be presented in great depth. The target audience would be aimed at those ages
ranging from 25-70 years old.

news around the world.

Sections Magazine:
• There will be 3 sections that will all have a heading for example political, economic, and social, each section will relate to the
outbreak for example political :How the government is under pressure to boost testing, NHS workers need the correct equipment
and gear to prevent them from catching covid-19,lab testing becoming serious problem and the PM and MP’S are recovering
from covid-19. The next section will be on how the economic industry is struggling: Global shares are taking a big hit, US
unemployment benefits, travel industry airlines cutting flights closing borders, car sales have fallen drastically. The last section
will be about how the society is struggling: Mental health issues, UK care staff at breaking point, School children annoyed
cancellations of all exams.
• These sections will be split in 3 sections however there will be 7 separate sections about 7 different countries that are struggling.

• Name of the magazine: 2020 WORLD REPORT
• The genre of this magazine will be current affairs, currently in the news people’s lives and health’s at risk especially with the outbreak of coronavirus.
• This magazine will cover which countries have had the most cases {mostly in Europe}, the symptoms that are becoming more common for example sense of smell
being lost, fever and persistent cough. It will also cover how it all began starting in Wuhan the market place and how one person had infected thousands as it soon
became the pandemic of the world. Also, how the lockdown has affected everyone in every corner of the world, the economic impact it is having on society and
businesses. The political, economic and society effects.

7. Statement of intent
• My current affairs magazine will represent current issues occurring around the world and how many countries rich an poor are coping. It
will also feature a system of values attitude's and beliefs that people have towards the pandemic and how they are shared by the society.

• Media language that will be used is printed. The masthead will be very bold and will attract the audience this will be because bright colours
will be used and certain font types that look attractive. There will be an image of the virus itself that will be enlarged on the front cover. The
camera shot of the magazine will be placed in the middle of the magazine this is to make it clear on what the magazine is about.
8. Draft For First Magazine cover
Main image: The main image of my first draft is an outline of a brain, the coronavirus is placed
in the central and around it is the constant thoughts that people have day and night and how this
affects them mentally. This is a depiction of what each person in the nation is feared by.
Barcode: My barcode is a convention which is placed in the right hand corner of the magazine it
is very useful and is easily accessible to see.
Date/Price: The date of my magazine is placed at the top left of my magazine cover. The price is
located at the bottom of the barcode this is very convenient as it is visible.
Masthead: My masthead is Brain Escape. This is very catchy and has a bold serif font this is so it
sticks out.
Font type: The font type that I chose for my magazine was “Centaury” this font type is very
simple as I used it for my straplines it is very elegant and classy I decided to use on font type as I
didn’t want it to be harsh on the eyes.
Colour Scheme: I used many primary colours: Red, black, yellow, green and blue. The black is
very sophisticated as it stands out and is very bold. The images have more colour this is because
these items are important and are essential.
Main coverline: The main coverline is a quote that is very meaningful this is from my holy
scripture {Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji} “Your brain is an organ but the mid is a light”. This sates
9. Draft For my second magazine:
Main image: My main image is a portrait of Barack Obama I have used a faint pencil
line to depict the racial difference between “black and white” and how in todays
society people of colour still cant get justice.
Font Type: The font type that I chose was centaury this was to make it look modern
and to ensure it was aesthetically pleasing.
Colour scheme: I chose black, white and gold colour theme this was so it all had a
link. The black and white showed the division of two races that are in constant clash
and showed a resemblance to the black lies matter protest. The gold was to
emphasise key words to the audience.
Date/price: The date is located and the bottom right of the page and the price is
located at the bottom of the barcode.
