What Genre is my
magazine?

Why have I chosen this
Genre
• I’ve chosen this as I have lots of
personal experience for this
genre. I attend various festivals
and I am aware of the popular
and up and coming bands.
What will my magazine look like
• The look of a magazine is vital, and I have put
great thought into the look of mine so it is
appealing to my target audience.
• I asked various people to complete a
questionnaire. One of my questions was ‘what

answers are shown on the next slide.

Mode of address
• After doing some thorough research into the way
popular magazines currently address their
audience and how this way is perceived by them I
have a good idea of how I will address mine.
• I will use informal language so the readers feel at
ease but I will also use standard English so the
reader knows I perceive them as mature and it
doesn’t come across as patronising.
House style
• House style is what the reader will see at first
glance of a magazine, so if you don’t succeed
in making it appeal to your target audience,
the chances are your magazine won’t be very
popular.
