Magazine house style
- 2. In my media studies class I learnt that house style is nearly used by every magazine in the market today to give each magazine a specific look and layout so that it gets easier for people to recognize it. The main three important things are: 1. Typography 2. Colour palette 3. Layout
- 3. The typography plays a major role in giving our magazine a unique look and identity thus I would prefer not to restrict the typography of my magazine to a specific font. Having different fonts for different elements will be more appealing hence I’ll be using a variety of font styles (Serif, Sans Serif, Script, Typewriter etc.). These are the various font styles that I used for my magazine’s masthead, which I downloaded from the website known as Defont. I will finalize the font for my masthead based on my cover image.
- 4. I’m going to keep my colour palette light and simple to make my magazine look more elegant and outstanding. This colour palette will give my magazine a flirty and feminine look.
- 5. There are three layout shapes of text – C, U and H. I’m planning on choosing the one which compliments my cover image. Below are some examples of how I would want my magazine cover to be like.
