Contents page Brand identity
How I created brand identity When you are creating a magazine it is important that your readers can remember aspects of your magazine so that when the next issue is out they can still identity the magazine. To do this some things need to stay the same for example; headline, house colours and typography, These are the three main things that readers will look for so they can recognise the magazine.
House colours Red, Black and White The reason why I want to use these colours is because they contrast well together. I will use the red for prominent places where the reader will remember it for example buzz words ( exclusive, free, posters, etc...) This will lure the reader. This will make my magazine simple but effective and memorable.
Typography In class we have looked into Paul Fenton's rules of typography I have learnt many things from this for example “ thou shalt not use three type faces in one document” The font I will use in the majority of my articles and contents page, front cover and features page is Calibri. Then I will use different fonts that are more powerful for things I want to stand out. See more on my presentation called – The art of typography
Articles The types of articles I will put in my contents page will be set so that the reader will know where to look for different issues for example: unsigned bands profile, tour dates, live gives, interviews with artists/bands , interviews with unsigned artists/bands and album reviews. By having categories in my contents page it will make it easier for the readers and give the magazine a brand identity.
Genre of music Acoustic, live, soul folk music. music of the beaten track. Unsigned artists. Live music Vintage, old music 1960’s 1980s
How will I take and use photos? I have used many different camera angles and framing shots in my work for example, low angle, high angles, medium close up, extreme close up, eye level, Angle Oblique/Canted.I have edited my photos in different ways so that they look sharper and I have used different techniques e.g.
