The document provides code examples for using indirect references in Excel formulas. It explains that indirect references allow cell references to be dynamic by putting a variable within a variable. This allows referencing cells on different sheets or in different locations by pulling the sheet name, row, and column from other cells instead of hardcoding them. Examples are provided of indirect functions that reference cells on different sheets based on values in other cells to dynamically select the sheet and location. It concludes that indirect references can significantly reduce the complexity and time needed for large workbooks that dynamically reference and consolidate data from multiple sheets.
This document provides answers to 15 questions from a final exam on Angular. VBScript is a scripting language that can be used to add interactivity to HTML pages. It allows scripts to be inserted into HTML documents and executed when the page loads or in response to events. There are different types of statements that can be used in VBScript, including conditional statements to perform different actions depending on decisions, and looping statements to repeat blocks of code a specified number of times or until a condition is met. Procedures like subroutines and functions can also be created to organize blocks of VBScript code and potentially return values. Variables are used to store and manipulate data during script execution.

An abstract class in C# is defined using the "abstract" keyword. It can contain abstract and non-abstract methods and properties. Abstract classes cannot be instantiated but can be implemented by child classes. Abstract methods in an abstract class are declared using the "abstract" keyword but provide no implementation, while non-abstract methods do provide implementation. Child classes that inherit from an abstract class must override the abstract methods to provide an implementation. Interfaces in C# declare signatures for methods, properties, events and delegates but provide no implementation, which is instead provided by classes that implement the interface.

The document discusses techniques for refactoring code, including intention revealing methods, null objects, and replacing large methods with method objects. Intention revealing methods transform comments into descriptive method names to improve code readability. Null objects avoid null values and unnecessary conditionals. Large methods can be refactored by extracting the logic into a new class. The goal of refactoring is to improve code quality, shared understanding, and prevent bugs and performance issues.

Lazy programming has been a fundamental feature of a lot of programming languages, especially functional programming languages like Haskell. Being inspired by these languages, Ruby offers us a few nifty ways of doing lazy programming. The ability to avoid needless calculations, perform operations on potentially infinite sequences and defining control flow as abstracts can exponentially reduce the running time of your programs.
This document provides an overview and manual for coding in Vizwik, a visual programming tool for creating mobile apps. It describes the visual data flow programming model where operations are connected by links. The basic data types of boolean, number, text, list, and object are explained. Control structures like blocks, conditionals, loops are demonstrated. Examples are provided for common programming tasks like printing text, performing math operations, iterating over lists, and calling scripts. Global support resources are listed at the end.

Body language, or nonverbal communication, conveys important information beyond words. It includes gestures, facial expressions, eye contact, posture, and other cues. Some gestures indicate openness and confidence, like open hands and direct eye contact. Others suggest closed-off, defensive, or negative states, like crossed arms or avoiding eye contact. Properly interpreting body language requires considering cultural and contextual factors, as cues can have different meanings depending on situation and background. Body language often reveals hidden feelings and adds layers of meaning to what is said verbally.
The document discusses barriers to communication in four categories: personal barriers, organizational barriers, mechanical barriers, and physical barriers. Personal barriers include semantic barriers due to language differences and psychological barriers due to attitudes, biases, emotions, and lack of listening skills. Organizational barriers involve structural and status issues within an organization. Mechanical barriers relate to technical problems and information overload. Physical barriers arise from geographical distances, noise, distractions, and time pressures. To overcome these barriers, the document recommends increasing awareness of communication importance, establishing an open organizational climate, using empathy in interpersonal interactions, and implementing clear systems and feedback processes.

This document provides definitions and explanations of several key financial concepts:
- Comparative advantage refers to a country's ability to produce a good at a lower opportunity cost than another country. Trade allows both countries to benefit even if one is more efficient in all goods.
- Compound interest accrues interest on prior interest amounts, increasing the overall return at a faster rate compared to simple interest. Disclosing compounding frequencies helps consumers compare borrowing costs.
- Contango refers to futures prices being higher than expected future spot prices, incentivizing storage of the commodity by hedgers and speculators.
- Several concepts are defined in 1-2 sentences, including deflation, deleveraging, discounted cash flow analysis,
ViewShift: Hassle-free Dynamic Policy Enforcement for Every Data LakeWalaa Eldin Moustafa
Dynamic policy enforcement is becoming an increasingly important topic in today’s world where data privacy and compliance is a top priority for companies, individuals, and regulators alike. In these slides, we discuss how LinkedIn implements a powerful dynamic policy enforcement engine, called ViewShift, and integrates it within its data lake. We show the query engine architecture and how catalog implementations can automatically route table resolutions to compliance-enforcing SQL views. Such views have a set of very interesting properties: (1) They are auto-generated from declarative data annotations. (2) They respect user-level consent and preferences (3) They are context-aware, encoding a different set of transformations for different use cases (4) They are portable; while the SQL logic is only implemented in one SQL dialect, it is accessible in all engines.

You can see the future first in San Francisco.
Over the past year, the talk of the town has shifted from $10 billion compute clusters to $100 billion clusters to trillion-dollar clusters. Every six months another zero is added to the boardroom plans. Behind the scenes, there’s a fierce scramble to secure every power contract still available for the rest of the decade, every voltage transformer that can possibly be procured. American big business is gearing up to pour trillions of dollars into a long-unseen mobilization of American industrial might. By the end of the decade, American electricity production will have grown tens of percent; from the shale fields of Pennsylvania to the solar farms of Nevada, hundreds of millions of GPUs will hum.
The AGI race has begun. We are building machines that can think and reason. By 2025/26, these machines will outpace college graduates. By the end of the decade, they will be smarter than you or I; we will have superintelligence, in the true sense of the word. Along the way, national security forces not seen in half a century will be un-leashed, and before long, The Project will be on. If we’re lucky, we’ll be in an all-out race with the CCP; if we’re unlucky, an all-out war.
Everyone is now talking about AI, but few have the faintest glimmer of what is about to hit them. Nvidia analysts still think 2024 might be close to the peak. Mainstream pundits are stuck on the wilful blindness of “it’s just predicting the next word”. They see only hype and business-as-usual; at most they entertain another internet-scale technological change.
Before long, the world will wake up. But right now, there are perhaps a few hundred people, most of them in San Francisco and the AI labs, that have situational awareness. Through whatever peculiar forces of fate, I have found myself amongst them. A few years ago, these people were derided as crazy—but they trusted the trendlines, which allowed them to correctly predict the AI advances of the past few years. Whether these people are also right about the next few years remains to be seen. But these are very smart people—the smartest people I have ever met—and they are the ones building this technology. Perhaps they will be an odd footnote in history, or perhaps they will go down in history like Szilard and Oppenheimer and Teller. If they are seeing the future even close to correctly, we are in for a wild ride.
Let me tell you what we see.
