The Lupin Foundation was founded in 1989 in India by Dr. Deshbandhu Gupta, the chairman of Lupin Limited, to empower poor communities through economic development. It currently operates in over 2,600 villages across four states. In Madhya Pradesh, the Foundation works with over 7,000 families in 140 villages of Raisen and Vidisha districts. Key programs include a women's self-help group program with over 5,000 members that has mobilized over $3.6 million in savings, agriculture programs that have benefited over 1,500 farmers, youth skills training, housing assistance, and eye care programs.

2. 1. Poverty reduction through Women Self help
Group Program (2008- ongoing)
 466 functional SHGs with membership of 5127 poor
families across 99 villages.
 These SHGs have mobilized own saving of over Rs
2.60 crore.
 436 SHGs have been provided a bank loan amount
of Rs 20.09 Crore and not a single SHG is bank
loan defaulter.

technical know how for cereal and vegetable

 Six NI centres for improving buffalo breed resulting in 340 number of
graded murrah born with monetary value of Rs 1.75 crore against Lupin
investment of Rs 2.45 Lakh.

1007 youth trained in car driving, Computer Data entry operations,
Beauty parlor, Tailoring, Electric Motor binding with 25% local cash contribution.
