This document discusses the role of the organization Inner Wheel in supporting women and promoting European culture. It provides information on upcoming European cultural events and EU programs that support women, culture, and cross-border collaboration. The document suggests that Inner Wheel can help spread awareness of these EU initiatives and potentially collaborate on cultural projects to empower women and highlight their contributions to European identity and development. Inner Wheel aims to both promote women's role in Europe and increase its own visibility to attract new members.
This document outlines the Post-2015 Dialogues on Culture and Development consultation process organized by UNESCO, UNFPA and UNDP to inform the elaboration of the Post-2015 Development Agenda. National consultations were held in 5 countries in 2014 and global consultations included a call for papers, e-discussions and thematic events. The consultations discussed how culture can contribute to achieving sustainable development, particularly within the themes of culture and poverty reduction, culture and education, culture and gender equality, culture and sustainable cities, culture and environment, and culture and inclusion. A final event was held in Florence, Italy in 2015 to conclude the Dialogues.
In this presentation some key points to understand the virtuous cycle of cultural investments. Can culture create an economic value? See my website www.isabellalavelli.it to know the answer.
Reconsidering tourismophobia in cinematic tourism mobilitiesRodanthi Tzanelli
The presentation focuses on the ways localities, nation-states and national or international activists (as the former’s spokespersons) respond to excessive cinematic touristification in reactionary or defensive ways. The cases upon which I draw are mostly episodic, but crucial for the current global climate of hostility against forms of strengerhood. Because established analytical frames on social movements do not assist in the study of most such episodic expressions of discontent, a new analytical model is devised to tease out their affective significance in the grand scheme of globalisation.

In times of the obsession with profit and growth, natural and social
resources are exploited in all corners of the world. Yet, the urge
to radically rethink the system sneaked into various levels. Many
creative and forward-looking professionals are actively searching
for new spaces of opportunity, to shape and test new modes of
economic production and responsible social fabric. Rural areas
have become relevant places for experimentation - smaller in size,
providing more time and space, with less hierarchical governance
structures.
Contemporary performing arts in a rural context are an integral
part of that exercise of imagining a different future. Moreover,
contemporary art in rural areas have been nurturing and shaping
local narratives for ages. However, contemporary artistic practices
have gone almost unnoticed in many funding schemes - both
cultural programmes and rural development funds, which tend to
focus on economic assets of only a few sectors.
In the past few years, IETM has organised a sequence of sessions
and one entire meeting on the subject of art in rural areas. Some of
the brightest art professionals engaging with rurality have created
an AREA (art in rural areas) focus group within our network
and continued their exchange during IETM events and beyond.
Through the dialogue within that group and with other members
experienced and interested in the topic, we have discovered a
fascinating, vibrant and powerful world of contemporary arts in
rural areas.
Today, more than ever, we want to turn the global attention to that
hugely important world.
When creating this publication, we realised it is urgent to find
unconventional approaches to the arts in rural areas. We need
to identify innovative solutions to support the rural arts in their
endeavour of working transversally with other sectors. We have
to seize the momentum and potential of rural arts to help reinvent
the system. Today, when our planet needs it the most.
We hope the present publication sets a strong and fertile ground
for reflecting on those ambitions. Please get in touch with us

if you wish to further the debate.

sincere contributions. We also heartily thank our members and

A lot of studies on women and environment have shown that women are significant actors in natural resource management and they are major contributors to environment rehabilitation and conservation. In addressing some key environmental problems, women play a dominant role. Women, through their roles as farmers and as collectors of water and firewood, have a close connection with their local environment and often suffer most directly from environmental problems.
Women play an important role in environmental management and progress, full participation is therefore essential to achieve sustainable development.
Women play an important role in green economy too.

Luisa vinciguerra, Aabstract Tuusula Conference, October 2011Luisa Vinciguerra
The document discusses the long-running "WOMEN FOR EUROPE – THE ROLE OF INNER WHEEL" project by the Napoli Luisa Bruni Club. It argues that the Inner Wheel, as a service club within the European Union, should work with other women's organizations to promote information campaigns and awareness activities in support of the project's goals of a Europe for and by women. The document also notes that over four years the complex merits and evolution of the project have emerged, connected to new EU strategies around gender equality until 2020. It expresses hope for a concrete positive outcome determined by how Inner Wheel women commit to progress both within and outside the association.
This document provides an abstract for the 6th European Inner Wheel Meeting being held from August 31st to September 2nd 2012 in Graz, Austria. It discusses the importance of communication strategies for the Inner Wheel organization and the work done by President Catherine Refabert to improve communication. It also touches on how technological innovations will change how members communicate and interact with the association. The focus of the presentation summarized here will be on branding, communication planning, web communication strategies, and cloud computing.
6° EUROPEAN INNER WHEEL MEETING
GRAZ, 31 AUGUST – 2 SEPTEMBER 2012
CONNECTING
OUR INNER WHEEL FUTURE
abstract
The IW year of Catherine Refabert as IIW President will certainly be remembered for having fostered in our Association, a Communication Strategy, wide ranging, become indispensable and urgent. Many efforts have been made by President Catherine to that effect, from the opening of the new IIW web-site at the start of the Database, from the dedication of an entire Seminar on Communication, at the need to provide our Association of a Head of Communications. And this task was assigned to the Immediate Past President IIW, on duty (Catherine Refabert this year), which may also make use of collaborators in carrying out an area so important.
Build the Seminar Promoting Inner Wheel has been a task as necessary as complex. My new presentation in Graz, therefore, wants, in continuity, come back to some points exhibited in Istanbul, develop them with some interesting suggestions, in the certainty that the PPT related to this Seminar, available on the IIW website, have were viewed.
The Future of Communication in Inner Wheel depends on two factors:
1. The first is determined by the constant research and ongoing innovation in technology.
2. The second, by the ability of Inner Wheel to adapt itself not only to technological evolution but, above all, at the learning and regular use of these new technologies, despite the generational gap present in the Association.
The boom of mobile communications is one example.
In the coming years, the tablet will be connected, everytime - everywhere, with the mobile network.
The technological innovations - that will, further, CHANGE THE WAY WE COMMUNICATE, TO WRITE, TO THINK, TO ACT IN OUR ASSOCIATION - will be partly shaped by tools we use, and these tools, before related to the logic of computers and desktop machines, today are and will be increasingly mobile and connected to the Net.
So, the FOCUS of my presentation will be:
1. BRANDING
2. COMMUNICATION PLAN: FROM PUBLISHING TO INTEGRATED COMMUNICATION
3. THE WEB COMMUNICATION “GOING GLOBAL”
4. …TOWARDS THE CLOUD COMPUTING (just a mention…)
