Notes Lowest Terms
Vocab Denominator: Total number of equal size pieces in the whole. The bottom number of a fraction. Equivalent Fractions: Two fractions that have the same amount. Factor: A number in an expression. Greatest Common Factor (GCF): The greatest common digit between two numbers .
Vocab Lowest Terms: When a fraction can not be simplified any farther. Numerator: Total number of pieces that you have. Top number of a fraction. Simplifying: Dividing the same number into the numerator and the denominator.
Notes Lowest terms is finding the smallest equivalent fraction.
Notes Step #1: Write the factors of each number. Step #2: Circle the greatest common factor between the numbers. Step #3: Find equivalent fractions.
